It looks like it will be a big effort for people, so all the best doing it.

 

If we just have one bookie and then we rip odds from there and post them here, and then people just bet on the markets we post we should be able to keep on top of things. Perhaps put 20 markets up for a race maybe?

We might not be able to make it work, and might have to limit the number of participants if it gets out of hand (not sure how many will be interested). It might be worth restricting the amount of bets people can make as well, say three season bets and three for each race, to stop people doing hundreds of small bets.

Also agree with BLS that it would probably be best to have a set list of bookies to use.

 

Maybe best to do a draw before the season starts as you can't do everybody and first come first serve might not be fair to somebody who just found out about this and is willing to do this for the whole season.

 

I'd prefer to give everyone a chance and then if its too much then we can limit it somehow. Maybe a rule that all bets have to be in one post. The seasonal bets won't cause much issues as they're limited but if people are posting race bets all over the shop in the hours leading up to a gp then that could throw it all in mayhem

 

Could you just not lock the thread on race day?

 

Just suspend betting during practice, qualifying and the race.

 

That would probably be for the best. That with having the all race bets in one post should drastically reduce the amount of posts that need reading. The HTML countdown clocks are easy enough to make now to make it nice and clear for people

 

Just do it for the race, I cannot see people being here every session.
But if you can store the users scores and balance tables every session fair enough, do it. (There are quite a lot of us).
If this turns out better than the sweepstakes I will be surprised, but hey ho give it a go.

Its just (up to) 3 season bets in total and (up to) 3 race bets per race isn't it? We'll have to decide if the bets have to be for the race or the qualifying as well I guess.

 

I actually have no idea whether you are being sarcastic, but whoever is going to run it will have to be dedicated and organised.
Best for everyone to place their bets on the same comment.... to make it easier every weekend ..no?

Yeah the 1 comment 3 bets rule is more appropriate (I made it!!), I am sure you guys will get the rules sorted soon.
And yeah do the points system as normal digits or £xx.xxp or something...

Who will win the Australian GP:
Vettel 1/2
Alonso 4/1
Button 6/1
Ide 10000/1

 

I am in for this game, but I am sad about comment 7. hahah

 

Good Idea I'd love to play along even though its been a long time since I betted on anything, however I would only do it for 3 things:

Who will win the championship
Who will get pole(every race)
Who will win the race(every race)

And we could have a extra bet for each weekend such as :

Fastest lap
Who will retire first
Who will finish higher in the race Button or Hamilton

Etc etc.

 

The fewer the better, less of a mix up and a much clearer and inviting game to play.

 

We could have a few choices for available bets, will be a bit trial and error at the start to how many but such is life. Maybe throw in a weird one now and again
