Not sure, and there is no guarantee that he would be just keeping it warm. Yes Shaw has great potential, but there is a chance he won't ever fulfill it if he, say, gets an injury or doesn't train on like people think he will. As I said before if NA thinks he is good enough and has the mental strength to be back up this year then great, if not go and buy someone to challenge Fox. If it was Olsson then I think he will be better than Fox, so Fox would be moved on when/if Shaw is ready. If Shaw becomes first choice then he is still going to need an understudy, so if Olsson is available then why not go for him

Fair enough, I can see both sides, for and against bringing in a new LB. We'll trust the management to make the right call.

I asked Nixon if he had heard anything about in's and out's at Saints just now and he replied:

"Tale on a Saints target. But a bit off with valuations. A big bit ..."

He's said there's something in the paper tomorrow, a target that won't be easy to pull off that "isn't wildly exciting"

A target that we won't be able to pull off that isn't exciting? Weird, must be some odd reasons for us not being able to pull it off then.

Bit weird putting it in the paper if it isn't a exciting signing, plus we won't be able to sign the player anyway?. Sounds like random page filler to me.

Edit: I now see why since dan has explained his post <laugh>

Someone over on SaintsWeb seems convinced the Buttner deal is back on.

"Finances agreed with all parties" - he says.

I'd be surprised. But this is Saints!
