Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill wants to tie Lee Cattermole to a new deal at the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats captain is out of contract at the end of the season and impressed O’Neill at the end of the last campaign.
Cattermole, 24, is entering his fourth season as Sunderland skipper following his £6million switch from Wigan.

Sure one of the lads on here reckoned L'Equipe were half decent with the rumours comm or was that just crap with the rumours? anything else on him is he any good and how much?
