Leeds lining a move up for Jamaican Rodolph Austin who currently plays for the Norwegian Premier League side Brann (Signed for them for £1M). Described as a midfielder or center back I am guessing he defensive midfielder

    **Update**
Warnock has confirmed his interest in bringing SK Brann player Austin, 27 – voted as the best player in the Norwegian premier division in 2011 – to Elland Road, having previously had him on trial at former club QPR in January of last year. The combative defensive midfielder, capped 45 times by the Reggae Boyz, will be out of contract in December and has refused to sign a new deal, with Brann’s asking price believed to be between £200,000 and £300,000.

Warnock said: “He’s a player I had at QPR. I had him over for a week and he’s a smashing lad. I’ve always liked him, but it’s always been a bit too much money.

“The last time I spoke to them, it was around the £2m mark. But his contract runs out in December and he’s one that we are looking at as well as several others.”

Liking the sound of him, as long as he doesn't turn out to be another Nunez. But plenty of caps and a £2m price tag, sounds like a massive deal at 10% price. By by Brown <party>

Not knowing anything about him myself but can certainly get more excited about the sound of him than I can Andy bloody Gray.

Doc - Nunez was going to be our creative, flair goal scorer from midfield, shame it never happened. Rodolph a completely different type of player. A team offering a player a new contract who was voted best in the division, joined them for £1m and had a £2m price tag on his head suggests he is something a bit better.

Looks a meaty player. The size of that neck suggests he's not going to pi&& around in tackles. A previous price tag of £2m also sounds the sort of player we want. Time will tell if he can cut it in front of 30k screaming Yorkshireman on a cold Tuesday night in December. But looks promising. Also looks serious competition for Brown, or possibly a partner for Brown in a solid central midfield. Time will tell.

With all these incomings, we really need to see a re-balancing of the squad with a number of outgoings. Any news anyone?

Parker, Robinson, O'Dea, Bruce, Mikka, Forrssell, Clayton, Sam all departed since the final day of the season - 8 who were on the books or taking a wage and only 4 in so far <ok> Agree though that we need to see someone sign up Nunez, AOB and Connolly at least

Seems to me that Ateve Austin is a snip if we can get him tied up. All action, barnstorming midfield stopper, with a great tackle and decent distribution. He seems to be just what we need

Dont think he will be too worried about the cold Yorkshire nights if he is currently in Norway. Agree with most, he looks a great prospect <ok>

Looks promising, I don't like going on youtube videos but what Warnock has said makes him sound like he'd be worth a punt

I agree they can make anyone look good however it was his tackling that impressed me from the clips and all the signs are promising (club wants to keep him, age, previous value, previous sale price) and Warnock has already seen him while with QPR

If you look at him on Youtube, he certainly can't be compared to Ramon Nunez ... probably Nunez would get out of his way if he saw him coming. Would be a 1st class buy if NW manages to pull it off ... eat your heart out Patrick Viera.
