Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I meant that I didn't see the point in hiding what MY feelings were. I wasn't implying that anybody else was doing the same. And i'm not doing it intentionally, as I said it's my honestly held view, and I don't see whats wrong with stating that.

There's nothing wrong with stating your view as long as you don't pass it off as "being realistic", which implies an "I'm right you're all wrong" vibe. I did read "lying about it" as you trying to say everyone excited was lying to themselves, if that's not what you meant then sorry for replying to it as such.

Great I think. Can't remember much of his villa days, but sounds like the solid sort of player in in the middle that will complement Jack and Morgan. Good feedback by Rangers fan. Wow, its all go, I'm getting excited about next season!

I remember that bloody 2-3 defeat!! 2-0 up at half time. No idea why the OS decided to bring that one back up. Calum Davenport, oh my god. Sorry to put a downer on the whole thing.

Just skimmed through things. This is a very interesting signing. He is the Northern Ireland captain and was the Rangers captain.

Steven Davis was in the PFA Scotland SPL Team of the year announced on 4th May 2012. He was the only Rangers player in the side.

Looks a solid signing.

No but they were still premier league. If I were to say that we had just sold a player to Celtic would your first reaction be 'that must be somebody we were looking to get off the books' or '****, hope it's not Lallana'?

Get a life mate. He supported Rangers as a kid, he'd have gone there over any side at the time. Rangers was also a better move anyway. Get your facts right

This is exactly the signing ive been hoping for and banging on about this window. A good experienced premier league proven cm/cb (or both, the windows not over yet). Who has done it all before. He can get the ball and keep it under pressure, organise the younger players and act as the core spine of the team. Especially as he has captained both his country and rangers.

Cant believe we actually managed a 27 year old of this calibre and on a free! Result!

Unless we're going 4-3-1-2. Davis, Cork, Morgan across the middle, Lallana in a free role behind RL and JR.

No width in that though. Even if we don't play all of those at once, there will be plenty of squad rotation over the season and we can easily keep all of those happy.

He Sounds like a good choice Like wisescummer I have a few reservations too. Although he is an international I just feel he has been out of the premier for a while and he may take time to adjust to the speed of the game there. From the reports we are getting it would appear this will not be a problem.

He will be a good mentor for James W-P too :)

Keith Southern is no better than what we already have. Neither is Angel Martinez or Steven Dobbie, though the 3 combined to excellent effect to dominate our 2 man midfield. I think you're underestimating how good a 3 of Morgan, Cork and Lallana could actually be. Fair enough they're not Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta, but as promoted teams go, they're pretty good.
I know they are very promising, and they're all undoubtedly better than Southern, but my point is he did an important job for Blackpool and we don't have anyone in that mould.

We need a style of play that suits what we have available, not shoe-horning our players into another team's formation.
