And no one suspected a thing until about 30 seconds before it got announced (apart from MLG apparently). Top work Saints.

Maybe not in the most vital position but when a player of this quality becomes available on a free you got to take it.
Good experience as I doubt our other signings will possess as much premier league appearances.

Excellent by Saints, good signing. Also a lot of fellow fans from the PL like WBA, Stoke, Everton have stated there dismay of missing out on him on twitter, very positive indeed!!

Unless we're going 4-3-1-2. Davis, Cork, Morgan across the middle, Lallana in a free role behind RL and JR.

That sounds like a great line up, but we won't really have any cover for Davis/Cork/Schneid, and it might alienate other players like Chaplow and De Ridder who wouldn't really fit into that formation.

No doubt he has experience, but so far every move in his career (apart from this one) has been backwards. Villa to Fulham, Fulham to Rangers, just strikes me as a bit odd. I know he was a Rangers fan, but still, bit odd. And then there is the question of why Villa sold him. I hope this is him getting what looked to be a promising career back on track.

Chaplow could play as one of the central three and Hammond and JWP could cover in the middle, I guess? Not really given it much thought, was just spitballing :D

Fulham to Rangers is a backwards move?! You do know what Fulham was like back then right? They weren't off playing the best Europe has to offer.

Oops I forgot about Deano somehow?! :O But Okay that gives us one cover for 3 places but I still think that's a bit of a risk, with JWP's massive inexperience (he'll probably go on loan) and Chaplow not suiting that deep role.

However when the players are availible then yeah that seems a good shout for next season's formation!

He is a multi millionaire with a pop star girlfriend. I think he is quite happy at the moment... ;)

Mate, he's a footballer who wants to play football. He hasn't been doing that and I doubt he's so shallow that money + fit bird = life happiness.

No but they were still premier league. If I were to say that we had just sold a player to Celtic would your first reaction be 'that must be somebody we were looking to get off the books' or '****, hope it's not Lallana'?
