The people of Scotland gave us penicillin, the television, the telephone and Electromagnetic Theory. If you say you're British instead of just English you can stake a claim to that stuff :D

My Dads Ex girlfriend was Scottish.

She stabbed him and burned the house down. True story. Total mentalist.

I don't care either way. Sorry but for one I'm English and don't feel any pride in been British, and two I hate Tennis.

May the best man win.

They also gave The Crankies, Lena Savaroni and Susan Boyle.

Mentioning that lot is more more likely to get people onside Erik.

Think about it.

He deserves respect for getting to the final.

I watched some of it, and despite not being a fan of Tennis, i was impressed with what i saw. It was a good contest when Tsonga got one set back and the nerves kicked in. It was quite amazing how they can serve the ball well into the late 120 mph- mid 130 mph after playing for 2 hours plus.

The most annoying thing about Scotland is Scottish people and the Scottish accent.

I don't see the problem with what he said about England and not supporting them at the World Cup, afterall he's Scottish. A proud Englishman wouldn't want Scotland to do anything (if they actually qualified).

It's rivalry afterall- and it's the oldest sporting rivalry in existance, yet we have some opportunities to bring both together and support them as one group. Nowt wrong with wanting the British sportsmen/ women to do well.

It's a complete non story fabricated by the ****e press we have in this country.

He might be a miserable Jock, but it's still good to finally get a Brit in the final.

Well done Murray.

I live amongs them, and most are like that, so he is no different to most of them up here. Anyhow like you well done Andy Murray and I will be supporting him, even through most up here, if and Englishman was in the final, would be supporting the opposition.

I've just got back from an enjoyable day surrounded by amiable Scots, some very twattish English and a few Hooray-Henrys to boot. Some of you need to get out more and bypass threads that you have no interest in.

For anyone who fancies visiting Henman's Hill in the future, make sure you get an unobstructured view of the screen. It's pretty **** when all you can see are umbrellas. Much more enjoyable during the Murray match when the sun came out, although the tennis was better in the Federer match.
