Just out of intrest how many of our ex prem players are still playing prem football and doing well for there new clubs.
Hunt(16 league appearances, 4 cup appearances, 3 goals), Mouyokolo(4 league appearances, 3 cup appearances) and Myhill(7 league appearances, 5 cup appearances) are the ones that went to Premier League clubs.
Michael Turner 2010/2011, 13 games, 4 yellows 2009/2010, 33 games, 1 goal, 9 yellows, 2 reds Sam Ricketts 2010/2011, 17 games, 1 yellow 2009/2010, 27 games, 2 yellows, 1 red (Premiership games only)
I was only thinking about the players that we lost after relegation. Turner has just returned after almost four months out injured, so he's only played two games this year, Ricketts was out of favour at the start of the season but has been pretty much a regular since Coyle came in, those two have done better than the three we lost in the summer(with the possible exception of Hunty).
i wonder what will happen with mouyokolo in the summer, particularly if wolves go down. i reckon he'll head back to france. noticed turner was getting a fair bit of stick from sunlin fans again after their last two performances but ridiculous to blame him after so long out.
I know, shows how much talent Sunderland have! They always seem to finish the season in hurrendous form
I know the original posted was referring to our ex-prem players, but if you include all ex-players who would have thought we would be talking about Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Jon Walters as prem players!
I never really think of Gary Taylor-Fletcher as being one of our old boys, he barely played for us, there was also Mark Noble who made the same amount of appearances and didn't look up to much while he was with us. I quite like Walters though, I was disappointed when he left. There's far more players that have gone downhill after they left us, I notice Greenie hasn't played a single game for Wycombe this season and he only played in two league games last season, so he's barely played for two years now. His contract is up at the end of this season and he's still only 29, hopefully he'll find another club.
I wouldn't mind it if we managed to bring Mouyokolo back is Wolves went down. He looked like a class act whenever I saw him play.
I'm not that sure Mr Hunt as really pulled up any trees whilst at Wolves TBH.I know he's been in and out of the team through injury but I'd definately say both Turner and Ricketts have done better since moving on. I liked Hunt , as most of us did, we looked a different team with him in the side.It will be interesting to see how it pans out with Wolves though as I'm fairly sure he said one of the reasons he was moving on was because he wanted to play in the Premier League, which is more than fair enough. Will he be saying the same if Wolves go down ?
I'm guessing it will be hard to get in their team as a winger as they have Jarvis and Hammill on each side.
Last i read Hunt was having an operation for a Hernia. I'm sure he'd have been playing every week if he hadn't been so unlucky with injury.
Ricardo Vaz Te is at Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League. No need to thank me for that snippet of info. Edit: My completely non-wiki related sources are telling me he has a record of 1 goal in 4 games. In Scotland as well ffs...
