This isn't so much a rumour, as idle speculation that doesn't deserve its own thread. We have all assumed for at least six months that Mariappa will soon be leaving. Might the takeover's completion change that in any way? On the Pozzos' side would they look to keep him for a promotion push, or sell him as part of their business strategy for this season? On Mapps' side, would the takeover make him more interested in offers from other clubs? Less interested? About the same as before?
I'd think he'd get a better offer and want to stay. Nevertheless this might just be wishful thinking.
