Proud to be White Michael Richards, better known as Kramer from TVs Seinfeld does make a good point. This was his defense speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act. He makes some very interesting points... �There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman'... and that's OK.. But when I call you, Ni**er, Coon, Towel Head, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, Paki, or Chink �. you call me a racist. You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you... so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live? You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi. You have the NAACP. You have BET.... If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists. If we had White History Month, we'd be racists. If we had any organization foronly whites to 'advance' OUR lives, we'd be racists. We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that?? A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any color can be in the Miss America pageant. If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships... You know - we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US .. Yet if there were 'White Colleges', that would be a racist college. In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists. You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist. I am proud.... But you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?? There is nothing improper about this e-mail.. Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on. I sadly don't think many will. That's why we have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won't stand up for ourselves! As I said its up to you what you think, just passing it on. is all.

Its a bit silly imo. the White population is insanely priviledged in relation to other ethnicitys. White History month for example. The vast vsat vast majority of history is very euro/caucasion centric. This is simply because it is those people who wrote it. Therefore it is important to recognise the achievements of people who would not otherwise be mentioned in the history books. Thats my two penneths worth. feel free to disagree though
doesnt matter what the ethnicity of the population is, the fact remains that those in power are from a white middle/upper class background and always have been and probably always will be, and its the winners that write the history books.
Why would this offend? There is absolutely nothing offensive in anything said here. These statements are absolutely 100% factually correct and the real problem is that to simply call these 'racist comments' and try to pretend that they have no basis in modern society and not the mainstream thinking is to behave like an ostrich and just burying your head. To fail to address the honest fears and thoughts of a majority of an indigenous population, creates openings for support within the extreme politics of the far right. To simply shy away from what a lot of people do think in private (for fear of being wrongly branded a racist for airing them) and have no avenue to turn down, simply gives the BNP and other more extreme fascist organisations ammunition to attract more supporters. I also feel somewhat frustrated at minority 'leg ups' or 'events' that purely because of my skin colour and nothing else, have been excluded from. I also wonder what the outcry would be to a white only music award or beauty pageant or a white only movie award ceremony? For almost 2000 years, this country has been a white, Christian country. Tryiong to enforce something else on the majority of the population against its will isnt helping the racial problems that effect all societies. I wouldnt try to live in Pakistan, Africa, South America or Asia and expect them to change 2000 years of their culture and history to accomodate me? Why then do we do this in the UK? I abhor racism but also feel more and more isolated as a middle aged, white, heterosexual, working man? To have someone with such a high profile speaking about these thoughts is refreshing and should be applauded not abused. No doubt there will be many fairy liberals condemning my thoughts and accusing me of being a racist but its always been my philosophy that its not the colour of a mans skin that determines his place in society its whats in his heart. These ethnic minority only clubs and awards do as much harm to multicultural efforts than the ultra-right wing political parties do. They highlight division and enforce split communities imo and to have them discussed is a good thing.
