Couldn't make it up could you, a point of debate being played out on tv, with Spain chucking the rule book out the window! At least Torres has scored supporting the age old theory!
As far as I can see Spain's formation was actually 2323. Most of the time the two full-backs were ahead of Busquets, and Alonso and Xavi were a bit ahead of them with the three front players being very high up the pitch. Impossible to defend against a team with passers in every position though.
Ive never felt convinced with Russian players living up to their potential in the PL. Dzagoev anyone? http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...2012/4404959/Alan-Dzagoev-on-Spurs-radar.html
goalkeeper available here...any takers? http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ady-to-sell-Tottenham-target-Hugo-Lloris.html
There is no set formation, as such. The whole system is fluid. Oh, to see football like that in the Prem. A very good side - Italy, we're dismantled and made to look very ordinary, and sometimes silly, by one of the finest displays of how to play the game that you're likely to see. Jordi Alba!! What a bargain!..
Spain are an exception to the rule imo, a one off, any ideas to emulate this group of players wouldn't work as well.
It would certainly take a lot of work, time, and of course, some exceptionally talented players. As Chavski have found out, that's not easy to do - no matter how much money you chuck at it.
KH I think anyone who speaks Portugese is going to be linked with us. Mind you this Oscar is 19 is an attacking mf if true looks ok.
'Modric possible move to Madrid goes cold. Sahin doesnt want to go to Spurs in exchange. Spurs dont wann sell to PL teams.' Guillem Balague, eleven or so this morning.
Seems like our South American scout is keeping busy... Looks like we're trying to get somebody from Internacional, but as he can play across midfield and has a decent scoring record, he certainly looks like a cheaper (yet more effective) target than Ganso. Understudy/long-term replacement for VDV is most likely. Lloris can leave Lyon for "the right price", which is something we need to look at. As for Dzagoev, he chips in with plenty of goals and assists for CSKA domestically and (crucially) in Europe, but his value would be inflated after the Euros and the reputation of Russian players in the Premier League is pretty low, with Arshavin, Bilyaletdinov and Pavlyuchenko all flattering to deceive in recent seasons.
Oscar is big business... Already playing for Brazil, branded the new Kaka. He'll most likely end up at Inter or AC Milan. The time honoured move to Europe. He certainly won't be cheap, and is valued more than Ganso at the moment, but not at the same level as Lucas Moura etc.
Which probably means he will have an over inflated price stuck on him. Unless Levy can work his magic.
Anyone heard any more on this? Personally I don't know much about Sahin (at Real Madrid) and if the story is true (big if but we are all expecting a transfer req right?) Seems a bit iffy but wondered if any one had heard a bit more on this deal. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/real-madrids-luka-modric-swoop-1111656?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitterhttp://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/real-madrids-luka-modric-swoop-1111656?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
sahin not wanting to join us is the latest. which is mentioned in that report. There's been nothing else.
ok i think this is the transfer thread not the 'i dont think you understand which tactics should be used thread'
In the unlikely event of this happening, I'd probably never stop laughing http://hereisthecity.com/2012/06/30/tottenham-hotspur-to-rival-chelsea-for-hulk/
