Couple of the QPR "ITK's" think that Buttner has rejected them to sign for Saints apparently. Never seen him play so don't know what hes like or how reliable these ITK's are.

The point i was trying to make but made better :) We were supposed to have 2 signings likely to have been made by preseason according to NA. I just hope we are being as successful in the transfer market as people on here claim we are. Yes we wont pay massive wages, but that being said, we do need the calibre of player who is going to keep us up.

Nigel said he maybe hoped to have a couple of faces in... by no means did he say "definitely two by preseason". It's 3 days since pre season started. Chill.

    Likely. Not definitely.

The point fran was making was that after such confidence shown by the management that signings would be made, and they havent been, its safe to assume that there have been setbacks.

Now im not saying im worrying and that its a complete disaster and we arent signing anyone and being a massive whinger. Im just implying that theres a chance that behind the scenes things may not be going as well as people on here say they are.

There was literally no confidence by management that signings would be made in June. June! There's nothing at all to even be slightly concerned about. If we've not signed anybody new by the start of the season, then start worrying, but it's the first day of bloody July.

Actually NA said a couple of weeks ago that he was confident we would have atleast 2 in by preseason.

Im not worrying. Im merely making a logical argument that the transfer window may be more difficult than alot of people on here are claiming it will be.

Im not one of the whingers.

Funny thing is pre-season hasn't technically started, the players were given thursday or friday last week to complete a VO2 max test. They officially start tomorrow where all the players are together for the first time since last season.

I also noticed a few Chelsea fans seem to think De Bruyne is still heading to us.... but I won't take any notice of it, don't want to get my hopes up. :)

Wondering about something doesn't mean that we are whinging. None of us want the wrong people...we are not so short of players that we need bench fillers.

"By the start of the season, maybe even pre-season, we'll have one or two new players in the squad" doesn't say "I'm confident that we'll sign two players in the next week".

And I didn't accuse anybody of being a whinger, I just said to stop worrying about something that there's literally no reason to worry about.

Agree , this window will be difficult. It will be interesting to see the callibre of player that Adkins can attract. We have been spoiled the last couple of years but this season will be a reality check and i hope sign proven players not just gambles. We need to compete from the first kick this season and not panic buy in Jan.

Perhaps we'll have three sign at once (hopeful mode).

Im not worrying. I just said that its going to be more difficult than the "in NA and NC I truster"ers on this forum think its going to be to sign real quality players.

I have full trust in NC and NA, but I also know it's very difficult to make good transfers. I don't think anybody expected us to sign a swarm of top 4 players by the start of July but why does that mean we can't trust NC and NA to have a good transfer window??

Thought I'd do a little study of who has been signed so far in the Premier League. All from Wikipedia.

    Arsenal: Podolski, Giroud
    Aston Villa: Holman
    Chelsea: Hazard, Marin
    Everton:
    Fulham: Petric, Diarra
    Liverpool:
    Man City:
    Man Utd: Kagawa, Powell
    Newcastle: Amalfitano
    Norwich: Whittaker
    QPR: Diakite, Johnson, Green, Nelsen
Reading: Pobregniak, Afobe, Mullins, McLeary, Guthrie
    Southampton: Rodriguez
    Stoke:
    Sunderland:
    Swansea:
    Tottenham:
    WBA: Foster
West Ham: Jaaskelainen, McCartney, Henderson, Diame
    Wigan:

Take out the free transfers and loans made permanent, and there is not much left at all outside the top clubs.

How do you define people expecting it to be easy, though? Do you think people expected us to have a squad good enough of challenging the top 4 by early July?

How clever that youve used sarcasm to try to win a debate. Ill just stick with logic if thats alright.

My point is that people on here are placing a great deal of trust in NA and NC, and quite rightly so, they have earnt our trust. I fully expect us to make some great signings, and hope that they will be enough to ensure our survival.

My point is not that we wont make any signings because they havent been made by July 1st. Nor is it that the signings we do make will be bench sitters or flops. I fear that because there are a minority of boo boys and whingers who do think like this, you have assumed that I am one of them. I am not.

My point is that this well earnt trust between us and the management does not necessarily mean their job will be easy. Recent examples - Hooper rejected us, Upson rejected us, Sharp rejected us until we were on the verge of the Premier league, im sure there are more we havnt heard about.. Now these are all players that we all hope we can attract. Those who are believing that Dons mystic DVD and a snap of the fingers is all that it will take to attract these players to our club are simply mistaken.

As NA has said, its going to take alot of very hard work behind the scenes to push these deals through. I am confident they will, but its going to be harder work than people suspect.

Interesting that you choose to use sarcasm to point out mine, when I didn't use any in the first place - quite hypocritical of you.

I haven't assumed you're a whinger, or a boo boy, and nor have I said anything that should make you think that. I've not accused anybody, even indirectly, of it, I've simply pointed out that people have no reason to be worried or concerned.

All I'm asking is simply some explanation because I don't understand what you're trying to argue. As far as I can see, nobody has said the transfer window will be easy, and that we can attract anybody we lay our eyes on? It seems you're using hypotheticals to justify complaining about a lack of signings (or whatever your aim is). I asked for how you define people thinking the transfer window will be easy, now I ask for examples of this, and examples of people "believing that Dons mystic DVD and a snap of the fingers is all that it will take", because I've not seen any of this.

I don't see how you can disagree with me saying that there's no need to worry yet, because that's literally all I'm trying to say.
