Nope. A lot of managers and players wouldn't contemplate coming to a club with no training facilities. To be honest, I'm amazed Laudrup signed up to it and it's one of the main reasons I believe he may be here for a good few years. An academy would be nice, but we've managed alright without one so far (I'm aware the same could be said of training facilities) but having our own base to train at would definitely reap a quicker reward in terms of stature of the club and what we get out of it.

Your genuine response is "can't we train in a local field"?

Generally, yes. Do they not have professional training facilities in Australia?

Yes Musty. At the moment we train in a public gym and on a synthetic pitch which is shared with the Ospreys. Every other PL team (as far as I know) has their own training complex with state of the art training facilities and a bit of privacy. It's good that they mix with us normal people now but really they need better than that. As Scott said, the training facilities are a big selling point when trying to bring a player here.

Of course the players need dedicated training facilities, it's no good training in a gym and waiting to use equipment that maybe I am using. They are athletes they need this as much as we do. Plus it's no good having one pitch they have to share now, we need 3 or 4 pitches one all weather to train and have practice matches etc on.

Do we need this ? Of course we do ! This is not jumpers for goal posts musty <doh> this is a serious business where the rewards are huge. So please face reality here.

Musty with respects its not our facilities or the ospreys, it belongs I believe to Neath & Port Talbot Council.

Musty what the hell you talking about ? These people are athletes not a local football club, they need dedicated facilities to train , not the local gym full of kids and their parents. It's not treating them as prima donnas it's about giving them the best we can offer to get them to play for the swans!

Honestly thank **** you are not a manager of our club

Musty honestly the ospreys were there before us, they allow us to use their pitch to train. So we can't do **** all as we don't own it, the local council does

You speaking rubbish mate, there are contracts that have been in place for years. The council unlike businesses don't need to make a profit. And besides that the facilities are being built right now, without them being in place we can never hope to achieve academy status or bring on and keep players.

Every other club in the premier league and most of the championship has them. And that includes Cardiff who are allegedly spending £10m on them. We must be able to compete, your jumpers for goal posts and sharing a gym with the public is not good enough it's that simple!
