Including the stadium management company who apparently, it's alleged, have failed to pay a single penny in rent so far? Not my words I may hasten to add.

If you read their certified accounts they have been making losses, which according to the swans accounts were covering those losses. And it's not rent it's a percentage of the profits that are paid, which is is also in the account statement of the management company

The amount of people who don't actually know how the breakdown of the stadium management works never ceases to amaze me.

The Swans and the Ospreys pay rent to the Swansea Stadium Management co. In theory they do anyway. The Ospreys are apparently a little tardy when it comes to meeting their dues. As far as I'm aware SCFC are bang up to date.

The SSMC is made up of representatives from the two clubs, and the local authority, who each in theory control a one third share. In reality, the authority controls the SSMC as they also own the stadium. What they say goes in the vast majority of cases.

The long running dispute with regards to withheld rent is between the council and the SSMC, so in essence the council is arguing with itself. Not a particularly hard to believe scenario for anyone who has had dealings with any local Government department.

What should happen (and appears to be slowly becoming the case, even more so when we pay to extend the place) is that the Swans should demand greater control of the SSMC than they do at present. We contribute the lions share of the running costs, far more than council run events and the paltry attendances the Ospreys pull in.

Eventually the council will withdraw from the picture to become a silent landlord, and the Ospreys will merely become tenants of the Swans should they choose to remain there. Talks have already taken place about a reorganisation of the SSMC along those lines, although a full agreement is some way from fruition.

Lone Rangel the swans pay the management company a percentage of the seats sold, I don't believe it's a set amount of money from what I can understand of the accounts that I have read. The management company is actually mainly the council as they have the most directors on there, so your arguing with themselves statement seems to be borne out.

The way it's setup it looks like the management company will never make money, whoever set that side of things up should be shot I think. I don't even think they will make money with us in the premier league. For example there are no concerts lined up for the summer that I can see, there doesn't appear to be any major events at the stadium at all.

That is correct. They pay a set fee or a percentage, whichever is greater. Think it's a £50k per game minimum.

It's been the way of the place since it first opened.

There's no real need for the place to turn a profit at all as things stand. All it needs to do is break even, otherwise you're talking taxable income. The problem is that it's actually running at a deficit because of the lack of events, because Ospreys crowds generally don't generate enough income to cover the costs of running them, and because of the utterly unnecessary oversight that results from being run by the council.

As you say, some more big concerts per year would go a long way towards rectifying that, but until the "too many cooks" approach is knocked on the head and SCFC themselves control the place outright it's unlikely to happen.

None of you Cardiff fans want to elaborate on your stadium shenanigans then?

Ok, I'll kick this one off....
Here's a taster. Prior to building the CCS the money put into the project by Cardiff Council, £30 million of Cardiff council tax payers money, was put into a bank account which paid the interest out to Cardiff City football club....in effect, as the club was making a loss, funding a private enterprise with money taken from citizens who were never consulted.

So you worked as a steward and you know the intricate financial goings on in the board room <doh> and reading the accounts listed at companies house it doesn't mention rent at all! So you are speaking crap mate as there was no thousands owing !

As for the police, that was a legal argument between the management company and south wales police not the swans. Really you have no idea at all do you ?

I can show you the certified accounts of both the club and management company if you wish, it clearly states on there what happens at our club.

And as I mentioned let's wait to see what the parties in the agreement decides, it will be a joint venture whatever happens. And you keep asking for documentation, tell you what how about you providing proof it can't be done.

I always thought he was a turnstile operator.

He won't wish to see it. It'll prove that he's full of ****, if such proof was necessary where he's concerned.

If he's a steward that would explain a lot. I used to know a couple of the old Vetch ones and they were usually full of the same kind of cobblers he comes out with.

You like ending discussions when you don't offer anything constructive to say, apparently people are used to you doing a runner from conversations
