    I'd question that.

Whatever we think about Simpson and Ashton's methods, the way that they handled employee departures ensured that a large part of the story could not possibly come out. I've got no reason to believe that recent employees will be similarly hamstrung once the takeover is complete.

Just in case he does read this, I think that you would do yourself a favour by returning to Stanmore quietly, think about how you have made yourself look extremely foolish this week and realise that you cannot under any circumstance take up your role as owner of this club again. You might think that you have a legal right still to do so, that we don't know, but would you really like to see in a court if your claim stood up? If you have made any money from your time in charge wouldn't you rather hold on to it rather than chance it against the legal resources available to someone like Lord Ashcroft?

Laurence Bassini það er kominn tími fyrir þig að fara og skaltu fara núna. Þú ert skaðlegur knattspyrnufelagið okkar.

Laurence Bassini it is time for you to go and visit now. You are damaging to our football club

Laurence Bassini è tempo per voi di andare a andate ora. Si sono dannosi per la nostra squadra di calcio

Bassini has to go. No one wants him there anymore with what he's done to the club and it's reputation.

Bas is friendless and out of his depth--his ownership of the club is certain to end pretty soon. If the new owners are indeed to be the Pozzo family, this will have some benefits for the club. The way they want to run it (to develop players for sale ) means they are here for a few years-- stability of ownership at last. They will want to stay in the Championship, since this is essential for attracting ambitious and talented youngsters, and for providing the right level of competition for proving professional players--relegation risk reduced. They will want to invest in the pitch, coaching staff and the infrastructure for player development--Academy safe .

On the other hand, they will not be telling the manager to target Premiership promotion and they will not be providing money for big transfer fees or bringing in high wage players. Ground improvements may not be a priority. Will they remember the community ethos of the club, and will Dyche and some older, established players have a role in the new regime? There may be stability without continuity in the future. Fair trade?

Italians have their family to attend to on the weekend, not to mention mass and confession time. Let's hope this is wrapped up Monday. Also, if this goes through NO ONE should step into Baz's pub. JOB DONE. FINGERS CROSSED.

I am guessing that you include me in this group SCH. I am very pleased that the takeover is happening. Reading between the lines it would seem that major problems are looming for the club if Baz stays in charge. What I am concerned about is the lack of critical evaluation of what the Pozzos want from owning the club (with a couple o notable exceptions.) Most of us are euphoric at Baz going but what comes next?

My feeling is that the ethos of WFC wil change. What worries me is that the primary objective may not be to finish as high in the league as we can. Of course, I may be completely wrong, but, to my mind there is still uncertainty. Not that it makes any difference. We need new owners. The Pozzos are the onlu suitors

He may indeed still own the pub after the takeover - but is he the licensee? I'm probably wrong, but I thought that Alan Smart held the license - would hate to think that he would suffer financially because of this. :(

You may well be right - but it doesn't change the sentiment. Whoever is the licensee will suffer if everyone boycotts the place.

We should not be suggesting a boycott of The Lion - it's part of our heritage, we need a successful Lion..

I certainly wont be boycotting the place. It is part of the club, and it was a mini ritual before the end of last season for my dad and i to go in there for a drink before the away coach arrived and i got their autographs. So there is no way i am boycotting it.
