I am wondering what impact the Deeney situation has had on the negotiations - whether they have had to wait for the outcome of the sentencing, to establish the effect on his asset value to the club, which has now been severely reduced perhaps to nil.

That would be some excuse to bail and would be shocked if it had any bearing what so ever. The actions of one person, albeit a high profile player should not reflect on the club as a whole. What it has done though is put the club in a very awkward position. I'd find it very difficult not to sack him if I were in their shoes. This is gross misconduct of the highest order. Put it this way, very few companies would keep an employee if they had done this. Actually I'll go out on a limb and say virtually none.

The Army would! <laugh>

Most petty criminals who go inside only do a third of their sentence so Troy will do 3 months of his 10 month sentence....this is usual, but only if he is well behaved and he should be out in middle of September

And give a promotion to General!

While the main focus for Pozzo will always be Udinese, Watford can look to the relative success of Granada who had been out of Spain’s top flight for 35 years before Italian investment – and with promotion came the redevelopment of their Estadio Nuevo Los Càrmenes stadium which saw the capacity increased by 8,000.

Ground improvements will come hand in hand with on-field success but the new owners will have done due diligence on the prime geographical position Watford holds in relation to London. Still, that is a by-product of the big picture which is to expand the football side of the business away from Italy where Udinese know their place in the pecking order.

looks very positive...

Who would be first team coach? - Zola had Steve Clark at West Ham

I dont know, one might assume that Zola would bring his own staff as most new managers do. But it might be that Dyche gets relegated to that job and then everyone gets relegated below him. I guess we wont know until it happens. :(
