The current odds on the next Premier League manager to be sacked: # Steve Kean ââ¬â 4/6 # Avram Grant ââ¬â 7/1 # Gerard Houllier ââ¬â 7/1 # Carlo Ancelotti ââ¬â 8/1 # Roberto Martinez ââ¬â 10/1 # Harry Redknapp ââ¬â 10/1 # Steve Bruce ââ¬â 12/1 # Robert Mancini ââ¬â 12/1 # David Moyes ââ¬â 12/1 # Mark Hughes ââ¬â 14/1 # Alan Pardew ââ¬â 16/1 # Mick McCarthy -20/1 # Ian Holloway ââ¬â 20/1 # Arsene Wenger ââ¬â 25/1 # Alex McLeish ââ¬â 25/1 # Roy Hodgson ââ¬â 33/1 # Kenny Dalglish ââ¬â 40/1 # Tony Pulis ââ¬â 40/1 # Sir Alex Ferguson ââ¬â 50/1 # Owen Coyle ââ¬â 66/1 They seem a bit odd to me, I'd expect Mick McCarthy and Alex McLeish to be higher up the list and Coyle less likely to be sacked than Fergie?
Bruce looks very good value at 12/1 for me. He is being found out badly at the moment. They've spent a lot of money - obviously they recouped a fair bit for bent - but even so, they should be comfortably top half
If he was with any other chairman I would say your right. But Quinn isn't going to sack him, he has done well for Sunderland and if he was sacked then they would be in a right mess. They aren't going to get relegated.
Quinn doesn't own the club, so the decision to sack Bruce wouldn't be his to make. Though I agree they won't get relegated.
It looks like some "care in the community" person has come up with these odd's! I mean, c'mon, Wenger on lower odds than Woy, Pulis, and, Coyle????????
If you put it into context though, it makes sense: Woy has only recently taken over at WBA so it's highly unlikely that he will be sacked until October next year at the earliest. Pulis - Considering we went up at the same time as them.. If we'd comfortably avoided relegation last season and were currently lying 12th in the Premier League this season, do you think there would be any chance of sacking Brown? Coyle took over from Megson, who was sacked after a 2-2 draw at the Reebok against the Tigers. They were in a relegation dogfight with the likes of ourselves, Burnley and West Ham. 15 months on, they lie 8th in the Premier League, and a place in the Europa League is not out of the question. Again, compare it to Brown. What would be the odds of us sacking him if we were currently 8th in the top tier? Whereas Wenger has not won a trophy since the FA Cup in 2005. He may have the loyalty and the sentimental value, and Arsenal's 'special' football but it isn't getting results right now. Even though his sacking is unlikely, I find it more likely than the ones mentioned above. ^^^Product of having nothing left to do on a Sunday night^^^
Wonder what the one for the Championship would be? Going by recent form Billy Davies would be the most likely candidate but Forest won't sack him. If Cardiff don't go up i can see Dave Jones maybe getting the boot given the money they've spent, maybe Nigel Clough at Derby. And no TWF, NP should be nowhere near the top of the list!
Here's the Championship list: # Nigel Clough – 6/4 # Micky Adams – 3/1 # Phil Brown – 7/1 # Tony Mowbray – 9/1 # Sean O’Driscoll – 12/1 # Keith Millen 16/1 # Malky Mackay – 20/1 # Steve Cotterill – 20/1 # Brian McDermott – 25/1 # Mark Robins – 25/1 # Nigel Pearson – 16/1 # Billy Davies – 20/1 # Paul Lambert – 20/1 # Simon Grayson – 25/1 # Sven Goran Eriksson – 25/1 # Dougie Freedman – 33/1 # Eddie Howe – 33/1 # Kenny Jacket – 33/1 # Paul Jewell – 33/1 # Brendan Rodgers – 50/1 # Dave Jones – 50/1 # Neil Warnock – 50/1 It should be said that the PL one is done weekly and the Championship one is done monthly, I doubt Brownie would be so high up now.
Thanks Most managers are now safe in their jobs, those who have had poor seasons such as Ipswich and Coventry have changed their managers already and will be building for next season. The only ones i see been at any real risk are the ones i mentioned in my previous post, but knowing how crazy things are now with regards to managers i wouldn't rule anything out.
Because he's a Premierleague manager? Think he's so high because of the old Harry Redknapp financial planning making CL qualification really important for Spurs. If they lose faith in his abilitiy to deliver top 4 finishes he could easily be gone. What's happened to Wenger's odds since the Yank announced he's going to launch a takeover now he owns more than half the club?
Wenger's odds haven't changed yet, but after the weekends results, Bruce has dropped to as low as 5/1 with some bookies and Kean's has fallen even further and the odds are so short that they obviously think he's on borrowed time.
Phil Brown isn't going to go either, he's just getting PNE on a good run and, whilst it's probably too late to avoid relegation, is beginning to build for next season. One question though - WHY the **** is Pearson deemed more likely to be sacked than Dougie Freedman?
