Yep, it's that time again! <laugh>

Now that Redknapp's gone and the shortlist seems to have been narrowed down to about 6 options, I thought I'd get an idea of who's the most popular man for the job.
I'll leave it public, so that people can see who's voted for which candidate.

Woooo, 100% Laurent Blanc, who'd have thought it? Seriously though, personally I'd have preferred Klinsmann, but anyone out of Moyes, Blanc, or AVB would do for me. Can't say I've even heard of Ragnick

I don't know enough about Blanc or Rangnick.

Moyes and Martinez aren't a step forwards IMO.

Capello, no thanks. If there's one thing I do love about the club, it's the way we play. Don't want that man anywhere near our club.

Which leaves AVB. - Not ideal, but I have a feeling he's going to be the manager anyway. Could be a massive risk, but at least he would be at a club where his style of football is already in place. Could be a great signing, could be awful. what can i say? I like taking a risk!!!

I think signing AVB could be the one thing which means Modric will stay.

Moyes is the safe option, but then if we had wanted safe we would have stuck with Harry for another season. Absolutely not Capello entirely the wrong fit IMO. Blanc or AVB? Don't know, shot in the dark. If AVB likes our style and respects the squad we already have and builds on that then maybe.

I think it's important that we take advantage of Redknapps best legacy, the squad. The last thing we want is to start a rebuild. I think that would be Levy's thinking as well, as he will have half an eye on stadium funding.

I would have to say Moyes just because I have seen more of his work and he is a craftsman with a good football brain. I think he would relish the current squad and with some shrewd additions take us forward. AND he is a gentleman who understands the need for diplomacy.

There was an interview that I read today with Modric talking about Jelavic.
He said that he was surprised by his move to Everton, as he'd talked to Moyes about football a few times and the striker had never come up.
Not sure if it means anything, but it might be an encouraging sign if the Glaswegian takes over.

    :D

I don't think Moyes is what Levy will be looking for unfortunately, as you said he's a safe option and that doesn't appear to be what Levy wants.

I think Levy does want a safe option YV and that is why he feared the risks involved with retaining Harry. With a new stadium in the wings with all the work and finance that involves he needs someone he can rely on and doesn't have to keep his eye on all the time. He needs the breathing space to continue his work. Can you imagine how much of the boards time was taken up considering what Harry's latest media outpouring meant for the club. Just think back to the Modric saga when Levy was fighting to keep him. Harry was being quoted as saying he didn't think they could hold on to him, that hardly helped Levy did it? Bent couldn't hit a barn door is hardly a helpful comment if you are trying to get a high price for him is it? I could imagine Levy in discussions with another club and having to counter the argument that even your own manager thinks he's useless why should we pay that much, and so on.

I want Martinez but Blanc is my 2nd choice. I know good players don't always make good managers but so far he has been nothing but successful as a manager. He even managed to unite the France squad after the mess Domenech left.

Bit harsh to dismiss him because of two results.

I haven't checked, are all the choices here bothered about working with a DoF, as that looks like where we're heading. Somehow i don't see Levy caving in to a manager like say...Brendan Rodgers, been here 5 minutes and telling Liverpool what to do.
