i just don't get how so many who have voted know so much about the guy, and why they've chosen him?

the first thing he did was ban an entire 23 man squad for a game, to make a point. yet, AVB is getting heavily criticised for trying to mix up the chelsea team as part of a "long term plan" which is what he was brought in for. surely if we don't want AVB near the club for that reason (+other factors), then how can we want Blanc? (and that's putting aside the "never managed in the prem" argument).
 
if im not mistaken Roo..everyone applauded him for having some 'balls' i know for a fact alot of Spurs fans did..but when he got the sack and the little girlies started sulking at Chelsea and forming factions and almost belittling him in the press with a daily 'inside source' feeding the sun newspaper..everyone started to buy the bull.
 
who is voting for Blanc?
He has 1 decent season in a mickey mouse league and done a decent (not amazing) job with a talented but underperforming french team.

Surely more of a risk than AVB. At least AVB has 1 decent season in a mickey mouse league PLUS a euro trophy.

all the names are visible Spurfect! I've asked the question a couple of times as to why he's being considered by so many. Just waiting to hear repsonses and why they like the idea of it. It's very interesting.

Like I say, I barely know anything about him, so i'm interested in what other info that those who have voted for him can tell me.

ive told you why lol.....hes won 2 tin pot trophies like AVB did at Porto...and he has emulated Santini's international unbeaten record....that santini who had a mental breakdown with us....the big diffrence however is that that classy club in Fulham have never had the chance to ruin his reputation yet...therefore he is a front runner.

That classy club in Haringey did ruin his rep though. Edit, ooops i think i misunderstood what you were saying. Talking about Santini, not Blanc!

To all those who seem to think that X or Y will be guaranteed failures surely you have to look no further than previous Spurs managers. When Santini took over we were a bit pants and he was a highly decorated manager. Surely he's the one!! Nope, but look at what his number 2 did. A guy the majority of Spurs fans had never heard of.

I looked him up enough to know he is Schalke manager. I actually think he's got the sort of name that sounds like a Rangers manager. I don't know why.
But for that reason alone, i'm oooot.

Dropping a group of players for infighting, creating divisions in the squad, and general infantile behaviour was a smart move by Blanc, although it has to be said there were numerous players frozen out by Domanech for reasons varying from personality clashes to their being born under the wrong sign of the zodiac (seriously, he would never select any player who was a Scorpio), so there were players for him to pick in their place.

However, if AVB dropped Terry, Lampard and Drogba - as well as their hangers-on - from the Cheslea squad for a series of games, one of two things would happen. Either they would take the hint...or they'd go whining to Roman at the first opportunity and get him the sack that bit quicker. What he should have done the day he arrived was transfer list Terry and Lampard, and if Roman questioned him he should have stood his ground. Chelsea fans would've been up in arms about it, but as he was brought in to replace the squad from Mourinho's Dark Ages, getting rid of the cancerous cells that spent more time texting Mourinho than following his instructions would have done that.

His clearly choreographed routine on the touchline still pisses me off, though. Pillock.

The crouching at the edge of the technical area, the regular pirouettes - a few of them are in this vid...

Wenger and Mourinho started this irritating trend of modern managers using the technical area as a performing art space instead of a place where they communicate instructions to their players, and a lot of the motions are clearly stage managed.
 
As you say Croydon, you can clearly see the attempt to do a Mourinho in there.
The managers know that every second of the match is going to be examined for hints of what's going through their head or displays of passion.
They've started to treat the whole thing as a PR exercise, sadly.
 
<laugh> pnp @ the clip...and maybe just maybe the guy who was mentored by Mourinhio has shadowed his master...even though we all think that whilst AVB is squatting that he is actually thinking about what he is having for supper...the truth could be that he is actually sat there having a think about the match....i just tried it and actually it is a quite a thereputic way of watching a football match and the information seems magnified and sinks in much clearely...however if he had a water bottle and smashed it on the floor id worry!


what do you want him to do? i dont see anyone questioning Tony Pulis's attempts and Owen Coyle's attempts to look like a peodophile taking a walk in the park!

i'm just waiting on the other 7/9 blanc admirers to comment! so far tots and Superal have made their opinions known. starting to wonder if the rest have got him confused with Sauvignon Blanc.
