Don't you think it'll be a bit too black if the socks are black too. I like the design, but black on the top half of the shirt kind of dominates the rest and makes it look like a black shirt with some amber on it. If the shorts and socks are both black too it'll be even less amber.

I like the fact that the shirt is a bit different, I'm a bit bored with the stripey efforts we've had 3 of the last 4 seasons which all look identical and this is at least a change, which adds to the excitement of a new season. If they're just wearing slightly (and not even noticably) thinner stripes or something then going to see the first glimpse of the new team at Ferriby isn't quite the same!

I just don't like amber socks, or amber shorts.

I'd actually quite like amber & black hooped socks.

People don't like black and amber stripes . Why do they think we got the nickname The Tigers? We wouldn't have had that nickname if we hadn't had striped shirts. The original nickname was
    The Cityzens. Not as impressive.
Can't imagine Newcastle fans saying they fancy a change from stripes. We should have stuck with stripes all along.

There's no problem with stripes, it's the uninventive designs we keep getting that are exactly the same like the last 2 from Adidas and the Umbro one from the first PL season, they're all the same. I think the best shirt we've had in recent years was ther one we got promoted to the PL in by Umbro, that was a very nice kit and was plain amber after 3 seasons of stripes before it, so it made a nice change.

We originally played in all white, and we've spent a large part of our history playing in plain amber shirts, Waggy played in plain amber ffs so it's hardly some new idea that's deviating from our tradition is it?

    this ^

It's a matter of identity... I'd much rather be sick of stripes and everyone know that's who we are than to change back and forth so that some feel like we're changing a bit.

Anyways I don't think it looks too bad now at all but I'm not happy that it's a rubbish training kit. Swansea got more for their money than we did.

Does not appear that much thought has gone into it. At least the Amber could have looked like Amber ffs. :emoticon-0111-blush

I shall wait for it to be reduced in the sales. At least i can keep my collection upto date. Shirt not worth £20 imo. :emoticon-0116-evilg

    Makes sense. Good call.

Nope. The good ship Hull City is more secret now than that of the old Pollitt bureau and MI5 combined. <whistle>

I dont mind a change at all. But that is awful. Glad we dont look like Wolverhampton is one blessing but come on its almost like a throwaway from a Star Trek movie. Beam us up to the PL Capt. Bruce (some good tweets on this subject today)Lol. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Now that sounds like a great deal to me. Can get the badges from the club shop and Mrs T. will sow them on. Job done.;)

Why did the club not look back into history and go with something along the lines of what we had in the 70's and 80's.? I liked the old twydale turkeys shirt. That was far better than the new imo.

    Hooped socks ? <steam> <yikes>

    Agreed. <ok>

Since the League started up again after the second world war, we've only actually had striped shirts for about a third of the season, they've been predominantly plain(or tiger print) for the other two thirds.

That has been the case since 07/08 when we signed with Umbro, the last kit that was made for us was the diadora one the year before.

All kits since then (home & away) have been templates used for other clubs and sold plain for sunday league teams.

Exactly - we're not the Tigers if we don't have stripes!

    Read what OLM posted #114

It's a misconception that we predominantly play in stripes.
