To be honest mate, even I remember what the board were up to then, and I'm 3 years younger than you. Peter Hill Wood often had a article in the match day programmes as did Dein.

Where about's did you stand ?

I never bought programmes <ok>

I used to be West Upper and the Clock End.

I'm pretty sure the first League game I was taken to was QPR v Brentford April 1959. QPR lost 1-0.

There were no team influences on me then - Wolves were good - winning in Europe etc. so kids 'down south' grew up liking them.
Just like in later years ManU / Liverpool etc were adopted by kids who had never been to a game.

I had no allegiances but as I got older I could get a tube to Shepherds Bush or a bus to Griffin Park.
It was much later in my teens that I started to be interested in the Gunners. Meeting my late father-in-law at 20 - a fervent Gunner set me on the road to being a more dedicated fan. The rest is history. I really have no idea when or where I would have seen my first game.

My first game was Man Utd away and we lost 1-0 <grr>

Arsenal v Leicester 1984/85 <ok> We won 2-0. I used to stand in the Junior Gunners section at the bottom of the West Stand in those days.

Bloody hell, you lot are getting on a bit, ain't ya? <laugh> Hothead's 41, Piskie's 38 (I actually thought you were about 37 before you revealed your age, so not a bad guess from me ;)) and Cym's ancient.

Am I the youngest Arsenal fan here ??

Looks like it. I am going to guess that I am the second youngest user on the Not606 Arsenal board at 22 years old. Although, probably one of the oldest on Ja606. <whistle>

Cym

Come here

On a serious note though, I don't really think age should matter that much when you come on these forums, as long as your contributions are reasonable. You can be old and stupid or young and clever (and vice versa).

You're neither ;)
