Not sure if I should put this on the silly season thread.

Just heard that a 'friend' who has connections to the club placed a substantial bet on Lee Clark a few days ago. Apparantly the odds at the time were 50/1

Tidy profit. He's 11/4 at the moment, shows how a couple of days can turn this entirely on its head!

brb The bet was placed ahead of any consumption of jubilee alcohol. I'd love to see the bet come in - we'd all be winners.

Well it looks like the BBC and twitter are a bit behind us today, only just reporting the situation with Steve Bruce and the Hull job, which was linked on here well over an hour ago.

should chris houghton take the norwich job, then there will be a managers job at birmingham, which clark and co could be interested in ?...seems be be having a knock on effect and obviously delaying our appointment !

thats assuming scally is aiming that high :1980_boogie_down:

gone are the days where player transfers are more important than manager ones <laugh>

For me lee Clark would be a great choice as I would want us to be hard to beat and a 40 game unbeaten run is not to bad . Also on the new kits I always buy the home one but going to have to buy the away one . UTG

Another option for Clark could be Blackpool as Holloway has reportedly been allowed to talk to Swansea City!

Reports Stephen Constantine has left his club, trying to verify, will come back.

ps. currently unable to validate any source through speculative media reports, I should add that his contract was due for renewal around the 14th May anyway.

I have just checked Skybet, Stephen Constantine odds have crashed to 7/4, I thought they were 9/1 yesterday?

I would love Lee Clark to come to us but there are many other better options for him, like possibly Blackpool as Mark states, I would not be keen on Constantine brb what are your thought on him?

    UTG!!

Not sure mate. The problem is I'm not sure if the Cypriots could afford or were going to be able to hold on to a ambitious manager anyway, so a bit cautious.

Initially I was a bit of a critic or more say an alternative opinion on him. Certainly not knocking his coaching skills but it is all this talk of his ambition I hear people mention. Simply summed up 'League Two'? and yet with numerous overseas coaching skills on his CV. Tends to just stand still for a season only. British interests, erm...with Millwall...erm

Do not get me wrong, not knocking the guy and I have no problem him coming to us. But...

Would be massively disappointed if it was Constantine!

Constantine intrigues me. Great coaching credentials by the looks of it and that's what we need. Anyone will be a gamble and there are no guarantees even if we bring in sir Alex, Guadiola or someone nobody has heard of.

At the moment I'll be content with knowing when the press conference is.
