I actually don't know how anyone can say trotter wouldn't be a good buy! He is an absolutely excellent player and I think he is exactly what we need! Does anyone remember millwall at home ( early season) he started the game I think and covered so much ground, we were playing at peak level early season and I think the only reason we won that 1-0 was because he went off injured! It's trotters time to step up this year, whether it's with us or another premier league team it remains to be seen!

No I don't expect Messi or Ronaldo.I expect better players than Liam Trotter who is playing at Millwall for a reason (no disrespect)

The fact is you need players of quality to compete in the Premier League 1 maybe 2 seasons of having championship quality players you can survive but it eventually catches up with you.

The Premier League is a very, very unforgiving league and people think it's been getting weaker and maybe they are right but it's very tough indeed...You can be in top 10 in February then finish 19th in May that's how tough it is.

Regarding Liam Trotter,no thanks.I think the signings of Fox,Hooiveld,Cork,De Ridder,Tadanari Lee and Sharp have been very good...I was unsure about the Hooiveld signing but apart from that I've been happy with the rest.

At the end of the day Adkins will decide who he wants. Will he want a player who did well at Scunny a few years ago in league 1 or will he want someone who can play in Premier League with reletive ease,I think I know what type of player he wants.

A youngish lad playing for a middle-to-bottom NPC side.

What about a 27 year old striker from Bristol Rovers? That one didn't work out bad for us.

Nor did the centre-mid from Colchester - Hammond was it?

Or Sharp from a struggling NPC side?

    How about Richardson from Charlton?

    Hooiveld - a Celtic reserve?

2nd point: Can the two not work together? Hooper played for Scunny, as did Cork, Sharp, Keogh and quite a few others. Clearly all poor as they played below the PL level with Scunny.

You are extremely ignorant, like, really really ignorant.

    :D Nope, no idea! V

Except you're not answering questions about it? You say he's playing at Millwall for a reason and hasn't played in the Prem yet despite lists of players who joined Prem teams from outfits worse than Millwall and have played at lower levels for longer? You know very, very little about Trotter and are basing your entire opinion on him based on the fact he's 23 and hasn't played in the Prem, yet you've not answered claims that Lallana is 24 and Lambert is 30 and neither of them have played in the Prem, therefore following your logic we should get rid of them?

The fact of the matter is you know absolutely nothing about trotter as a player. You base your opinion that he isn't very good by the fact he plays for Millwall. You make a quite ridiculous assessment of a players credentials based on nothing more than his club history.

Pretty sure Trotter was linked with Reading, gene why he is also being linked with us. <doh>

He has also been scouted extensively by Fulham and Sunderland supposedly.

AdamBanana20 - what about that good winger at Sunderland... McClean from DERRY CITY?! Surely he could never be good.

You were unsure about Hooiveld probably because you had not seen him play and i suspect the same applies to Trotter

The likes off Teddy Sherringham spring to mind just to name one that succeeded in making the jump.

Maybe you're right but being linked to Trotter doesn't fill me with confidence.

The thing we forget is that we trust Nigel and no matter who we discuss as possibles it is his decision that matters.

Teddy Sherringham was regarded as a hot prospect at Millwall thus why he got transfered to Nottingham Forest who were in the Div1 at the time.Trotter is 23 and isn't even one of the best players in the championship.

if Sir Nigel Adkins feels that Liam Trotter will fit in and enhance our squad then I am fine with it. His judgement has been pretty much spot on so far! I am sure that Sir Nigel has had him watched over and over again and knows he will fit in and enhance our squad.
