    I remember their spokesman saying their had been no bids accepted at that time last year.

    Someone said they had heard it on Solent and posted it up to SaintsWeb and here, but no one else had heard it or did hear it from then on so it was considered a load of tosh.

    Then Burnley's spokesman confirmed there was no truth in it.

    Yes but I highly doubt you guys would be prepared to pay the 50k a week he wants.

    Most of the stuff is paper talk so I don't get where your getting the "let's buy as many players as possible" We have only signed 1 player so far and he's a Goalkeeper because Green is going

    So how much would you pay for a 31 year old who has only had 1 good season in the Premier League.

    ?! Your whole sqaud were in the Championship and most of them are over 23, are you saying they can't be that good?

    If we want to sign players like Trotter then we might aswell just give up now.We won't get far by signing players like him.

    Angel Rangel - didn't play in Prem until 28
    Ashley Williams - didn't play in Prem until 27
    Neil Taylor - didn't play in Prem until 23
    Nathan Dyer - didn't play in Prem until 23
    Leon Britton (who played at L2 level) - didn't play in Prem until 28
    Joe Allen - played in Prem at 21
    Danny Graham - didn't play in Prem until 26


    Anthony Pilkington - didn't play in Prem until 23
    Elliott Bennett - Played in Prem at 22
    Steve Morison - didn't play in Prem until 27
    Kyle Naughton - joined Premier League Spurs at 21, didn't play regularly until 23
    Bradley Johnson - didn't play in Prem until 24
    Wes Hoolahan - didn't play in Prem until 30
    Andrew Surman - didn't play in Prem until 23

    On those two lists, only two are younger than Trotter is now. So all of them were clearly backward steps.

    The least Banana expects is Messi and Ronaldo!

    Good list DTLW <ok> Proves a lot.

    So when people say that players like Sharp an Hammond can't make the step up, let's just wait and see.

    Everyone thought Hammond would be ****e but I backed him from the start and he proved the majority of people wrong!

    we should only sign championship players, or lg1 but youngsters. i would hate for some premiership has been coming in and rocking the boat
