Brolin is one of my favourite players, not only did he cost Weeds £4.5m in 1995, but he played terribly, they couldn't sell him and they had to pay him £140k in compo to get rid of him. Well done Tommy. <ok>

compared with some the teams that we put out in the late 80s and through the 90s that looks like world beaters.

but in any event I would dispute McShane and Coles being worthy of this accolade. Coles was pretty decent at one point and McShane is a solid Championship defender.
 
We have had far worse teams than that, Coles was decent when he first arrived, he kept Turner out for a fair while.

That said, when it went bad, it really went bad and he got far more grief than Harper's getting now.

Like I said, I was born in the early 90s (93) so can't offer players from the 80s or even the 90s, as I was only 7 when that era ended. I have no positive memories of Coles whatsoever, although there's only that one absolutely atrocious performance where he was at fault for about 4 goals. As for McShane I couldn't really think of a potential right back and although he hasn't been bad 100% of the time, well, we all know his flaws.

I remember it being 5-2, but I didn't know that was the Coles' game.

Actually, I remember it being 5-1 before leaving.. in almost 8 years at the KC as a season pass holder I've walked out on all of 2 games, and that was one of them.

We were 4-1 down just after the hour mark(due mainly to Coles' cock-up's), when Turner replaced him to rapturous applause.

That was pretty much the end for poor Danny Coles.
