It was tongue firmly in cheek. I think he's trying hard to shift some of the deadwood, trouble is no one seems to want distinctly average players on PL wages... I think this "interest" in Rosenior is little more than lazy journalism anyway. Not sure there's much substance to it.
this slow progress in appointing a manager , is starting to concern me, alot of clubs are starting to recruit now. one player id of liked to have seen us bring in, grant leadbitter has joined boro, how long before other decent players who could do a job for us get snapped up. i think we need more experiance in those wide areas, stephen quinn and sone aluko would be good options.
The thing that struck me about the Rosenior article I saw was the circumstances. It said you wanted him and would bid if Peltier was allowed to leave, and it was the allowed bit that caught my attention. That suggests it's not that NP wants Rosenior, as much as someone else wants Peltier and he could be on the move leaving you short a full back.
You could well be right, there was rumoured to be interest from Leeds. Contract talks apparantly broke down with Peltier recently (amid rumours that he was asked to take a pay cut) which leads to me think that he may be angling for a move elsewhere.
imo, Aluko is the only one that would improve what we already have at the club and is not that expensive. We are ok in midfield overall but Paul Green(ex.derby) now a free agent would be a better option anyway. Think NB wanted Green. Rosie wont sign for Lesta full stop. In the unlikely event that he does go then it will be to the PL i would suggest. TWS have just signed someone i think. Lees is it ? Pletier will be way to expensive for TWS anyway. Its been suggested that Nigel Pearson has tabled a £1.5m bid for Steve Bruce sighting that he is running out of defensive options.
Apparently Sunderland have told Kilgallon he's available to either go out on loan or to leave permanently, he would be great to have untill Hobbs comes back
I had this conversation with OLM weeks ago and he said Kilgallon may or may not be in Sunderland's plans so it was hard to understand if he was available
Just a thought, but as we need cover at the back, why don't we keep Rosenior, bid for Peltier, and tell Leicester/NP to sod off?
I dont understand the Rosenior rumours. Yeah Peltier might leave but we just signed a right back in Ritchie De Laet and we have Liam Moore coming through Basically Nigel decides we want to sell a player and your players are easy targets for the rumour mill because we have cash and the NP link
Mc Lean to Brighton for 650k, Fuller to City and Stewart to Wigan for 2.5m - all from a very reliable source
Cheers, would be class, Stewart to Wigan? Would prefer him to stay as he's got potential, he's just hiding it, but players come and go
