Didn't hear the famine song from the Hobos last night. I did hear a rousing rendition of 'We are the People' though. I thought it was quite funny.

I do think if points were deducted from any club found singing sectarian songs then there would be a marked improvement at games.
I did see the you-tube clip you mentioned and I fully agree there will always be arseholes who spout this kind of ****e. But, by forcing the rest of the fans who are at the games to take wee fanny's to task for there ****e we could well stamp it out at games.
I've pulled people up at games for spouting ****e, as have other people around me. It does happen. If you shame them enough they do shut the **** up.
Most of the time it's some teenagers who are too full of the drink or who get too involved in the old history of our clubs.
Some of them seem to think the more bitter they are, the more they are proving that they are a great supporter. It's our responsibility as fans, fathers, brothers and friends to educate our society and points deductions could well be the kick in the baws for some folk to actually step up and tell some folk to shut the **** up.
To be honest I'm sick of going over the same old ground and welcome any club in Scotland getting ****ed for their song choices if they are offensive. It's coming to a head because of the society we live in these days. Some think it's overly PC, but personally I'd rather concentrate on the football and who's got the fattest fans(Rangers).

In answer to your question. The "people" singing the Famine song are asking/suggesting people of Irish stock go back to Ireland. Whether or not they actually mean it literally is another matter, but the famine song has been deemed to be Racist in a court of law - and a subsequent appeal - so they are indulging in Racism in the eyes of the Law, they are therefore guilty of Racism and have been since 2008 at least.

Yes, the fans sing a song that they don't mean, and I bet a sizeable proportion of those fans went home that night to a Catholic mother/wife/kids.
