I often wonder where they would have been
If we hadn't have taken them in
Fed them and washed them
Thousands in Glasgow alone
From Ireland they came
Brought us nothing but trouble and shame
Well the famine is over
Why don't they go home?

Now Athenry Mike was a thief
And Large John he was fully briefed
And that wee traitor from Castlemilk
Turned his back on his own
They've all their Papists in Rome
They have U2 and Bono
Well the famine is over
Why don't they go home?

INSTRUMENTAL

Now they raped and fondled their kids
That's what those perverts from the darkside did
And they swept it under the carpet
and Large John he hid
Their evils seeds have been sown
Cause they're not of our own
Well the famine is over
Why don't you go home?

Now Timmy don't take it from me
Cause if you know your history
You've persecuted thousands of people
In Ireland alone
You turned on the lights
Fuelled U boats by night
That's how you repay us
It's time to go home.

Bigot

Yes, the fans sing a song that they don't mean, and I bet a sizeable proportion of those fans went home that night to a Catholic mother/wife/kids.

Regarding your Irish question, yes we do, Sam English, Jimmy Nicholl, Kyle Lafferty and Steve Davis along with Alan Kernaghan and young Alan Smith have all been welcomed with open arms.

We are the peoples club mind <ok>

So with the exception of smith, its just the Irish protestants that you don't like?

and its ok to be a racist and its ok to be sectarian, so long as it isn't in your own house?

What a ****ing ****** you are Dev, seriously **** me!

Your hate filled body must wretch every time you see a Rangers strip.

Get a life you sad bastard

Again Edge we see your petulant side. You seem to be a reasonable sort with commendable qualities and you are normally quick to denounce what is wrong with the bulk of the Gers support but when faced with an answer to a question you demanded an answer to you revert to name calling and ignorance.

You know NOTHING about me which could lead you to make such a laughable accusation.

It's really quite sad.

No Zilla, the points deductions would need to be because songs were offensive, not just sectarian songs.

It will never happen though, ever.

Titles are decided by what happens on the park, not the stands.

Can you imagine it, last day of the season, and you need to win to get the title, but you're rival fans have bought 100 tickets and infiltrated the ground and start singing sectarian songs to get points deducted.

Good point.

But, in saying that, how many fans would step back and let them sing said songs if the title was on the line?

Would more be willing to grass said punters because of the threat of points deductions?

UEFA gave Rangers a reprieve because they were making good inroads tackling the problem one of the times they hauled you up. That suggests that each offence can be looked at individually and dealt with on its own merits.

We live in times were video cameras are everywhere. We can use fan power, video evidence, security and the police to monitor racist or sectarian behaviour.

As for other offensive songs or remarks, then you have to go down the line of the letter of the law.

Right now racism and sectarianism is an arrestable offence. If in the future calling somebody a sheep shagger is found to be deemed arrestable or fine worthy offence, then fair enough.

If the games were policed more stringently by the clubs, SFA and the fuzz then in about ten years we could have rid ourselves of the pish that comes with supporting our clubs.

It would kill the atmosphere somewhat, but right now I don't see any other action that could stop the ****e.

Suggestions are more than welcome.<ok>

No, Irish Protestants are fine, strange question mind, knowing you Rhebel.

How is it racist?

And my point was that 99% of the people singing it were doing it as a WUM and didn't mean what they were actually singing.

Do you understand?

How do you know that? <laugh>

Did you do a quick straw poll in the crowd?

I know that you are a thicko if you think that Rangers fans want the Irish to be rounded up and deported. That can be the only conclusion I can reach.

Sorry

I understand.

I don't know where you get your figures from, so I can't attest to their accuracy.

Famine song= Racist.

Do you understand?

Sorry

But me being a "Thicko" was not the "Only" conclusion you reached was it?

You also reached the conclusion that im a "****ing ******", I have a "hate filled body" and that I must "must wretch every time I see a Rangers strip", I have "No life" and I am a "sad bastard".
