After all of the abuse poor old Steve (and me) have received from Tigers supporters in the past, the dinner lady jibes, the unflattering mock up photos and the general insults, look what is likely to happen !!!

I hope he gets the job and you might take back all of those insults and apologise to him. <whistle>

Mind you, knowing Tigers supporters he will now become the best thing since sliced bread, your mesiah and savior - you are a fickle lot !!! <doh>

When have we ever used the term "Messiah" or "saviour" as a reference to one of our managers? Barmby was "one of our own" not what you call him.

Arrange these words for me- black pot kettle calling the.

This sums you and the Geordies, from up the road, well. You're as bad as each other. Both try to out do each other in mass shows for the cameras whenever there's a new manager about to be confirmed (because you're all media whores- we all know where Browny got it from, it must have been ingrained).

Whenever there's a report about the NE, there you are in your brand new shirt with King Kev is the messiah on the back or posing with a flag saying Niall Quinn's our god and inspiration. It's pathetic and makes you look desperate.

Only you lot call a new manager the messiah or saviour then stick the boot in when he does something wrong.

Now ha'way and go play with traffic.

I desperately want it to be Bruce, your worst nightmare, of course they have spoken to him, interview next Tuesday ! - pompous pratt !!!!

If you think SB is our worst nightmare, you don't know much about the history of our club - otherwise you would know that names such as Ian Dowie, Terry Dolan, Mike Smith and David Lloyd are the kinds of names that give us nightmares!

If Steve Bruce is appointed, it's a bit of a rollercoaster. Usually I'd hate it, don't really rate him as a manager at all, all that money at Sunderland and no success but as others have said on here recently what doesn't work in one place might work in another, Brendan Rodgers for example. Bruce has definitely done good things in his managerial career though and I believe did well getting Brumscum promoted from this league?

Anyway with all the names banded about I had Megson nailed for the job so in the circumstances I am rather happy to get him, I mean he does have the reputation behind him so it could be a very good move, tactically we'll have to see how it goes. Maybe leaking crap names to HDM etc. then putting a well known decent/half decent manager in the chair could have been a trick to help get fans back on side. And if it was and Bruce is the manager it will have worked...

I'd still prefer Billy Davies, as much of a **** as he is at least we wouldn't be dropping asleep at games, he plays exciting football. Besides who cares about a managers personality as long as he delivers on the pitch and hopefully shows a bit of loyalty (Pearson?) but I wouldn't bank on that.

We already have Steve Bruce threads you stupid wum. You should concentrate on whats not happening at Slumberland. <whistle>
For the record he is not my choice to replace Nick Barmby but is better than most of the names mentioned. Hope that clears up any confusion in your mind. <ok>

Problem with that scenario is that it depends on Martinez taking the Liverpool job. Dave Whelan seems to be suggesting that he might not even go there IF he is offered the job

Correct. Dave Whelan said on SSN last night that he has given RM a deadline of June 5th to make his mind up on leaving Wigan. i would be very surprised to see SB back at Wigan.More likely to be Mad Mick. imo.

I can't agree with comoli making the signings without them first off being identified by Dalglish.

I'm not saying that's the case, I'm saying it's popular opinion. None of us will ever know who was making the signings but it was well documented from direct quotea at the time that Comoli signed numerous people at Spurs that managers didnt request or want.

I don't see why Wigan would want him. He'll only walk out on them for a third time when a better offer comes along.

Farcical if true, i know it's down to public opinion, I just don't buy into it.

"However, Nick's behaviour has led to the breakdown of trust and confidence with the board and I felt I had no other option, particularly given his senior position."

What is this ^^^^^ all about. From the details known Nick has done nothing wrong to be sacked over. So can the HDM guru expand on this.?

I dont see RM going to Liverpool. He is not what the Liverpool fans want and will suffer the same fate as Roy Hodgeson. Pool fans want a big name after King Kenny.

i never understood the piss take towards him... i understand he looks funny and I also realise he took turner and campbell "from us" although those players didn't want to stay here it seems. But otherwise what has he done to get so much dislike from some fans? I don't really get it. I don'\t recall him being involved in a big controversial story..

Steve's all right, but you're still a twat!

I'm not condoning the way Barmby was treated and the veracity of his sacking, but before he was suspended, after comments were "leaked" about him wanting to strengthen in the summer, almost every idiot Allam hater came out from under their rocks and called them liars about having money to spend, almost entirely based on Barmby's supposed comments.

That potentially could be argued to be damaging to the club.

Still sounds a bit petty to me though if that is all it was.

Edit: speeling and tipos

Regular on the continent though innit? Gasperini was sacked by Inter after a poor start to last season despite they fact he stated a speedy winger was essential to suit the formation he always plays so the TD signed Diego Forlan for £12million <doh>

Who would be better for us than Bruce? Serious question.

No, Barmby isn't a serious response nor is Capello, Mourhino etc etc.

I mean from the list of names we've all be pouring over recently. Who is better, bigger reputation wise and a better catch for us than Bruce?

My thoughts exactly, we're Hull City, we are not in the premier league, we do not have a huge budget and our owners are slightly bonkers.

Steve Bruce would be a huge coup.
