Obviously it's goodbye Joey for twelve games, if not forever. Who do you think should be our new captain?

Let's give it back to taraabt. Could it be just a coincidence that joey's arrival and assumption of the armband coincided with adel's lesser form? Show faith in him, show him we want him and get him playing to his potential. There are, of course, many who deserve the role - mackie, clint, anton perhaps, but they don't need it. Adel needs to know he's loved.

Clint Hill for sure.

Those stating Adel Taarabt obviously don't remember the strop at Hull where our Captain made us a laughing stock. Great player when he wants to but Captain material he most certainly is not.

Agreed, all great captains have played at centre back, Emlyn Hughes, Maldini, Beckenbauer, Moore,Alan McDonald and Terry Fenwick. We should give it to ........?

captain should be either our CB or our midfield enforcer.
Some-one who can influence the game no matter what part of the pitch it is being played on...
Some one consistant and who people respect....
Not gonna say Mackie but Hill then Ali when he's fit....

Team captain has to be Hill or Ferdinand. Could make Derry club captain for the year.

Can't have the situation like 2010/11 where Adel was "captain" but everyone knew that it was Derry.

Players like Adel and Mackie need the freedom to concentrate on their own game and don't have the experience - yet.#

Faurlin, maybe, a year down the line. (Depending on who comes in.)

A strop 2 years ago doesn't have any bearing on who and what he is now. Im seeing it as an opportunity to give him some responsibility and a chance to lead by example. Hill would be great, but will he be playing every week?

I like Hill and i think a great leader on the pitch but i'm wondering who we might purchase this summer and if he will play as many games. Don't think we can call this one until purchases/sales have been made.

Personally i'm hoping Ale is fully fit at the start of the season and a starter , then it could be him!!
