In an ideal world, Hill and Derry won't make it anywhere near the pitch next season because if we are to move forward in the manner we want to, these players aren't good enough. I wouldn't appoint a new club captain until we have a full squad assembled, but I would want it to be given to a starter every single week and have Ferdinand as vice captain and Faurlin as his understudy. If we're looking to the future there is no point giving it to either of the 48 year olds in our squad.
Agree about Derry but Hill has miraculously turned out to be a Premiership Center-Half and our player of the season. Not that its matters a jot as its just an armband.
Onouha, leader by example. You'd struggle to find a more professional player. Second would be Ferdinand, never thought I'd say that. Hill would have been my first choice but can't see him played regularly enough next season.
It has to be someone who can be a leader on and off the pitch. I have been one of Mackie's bigger supporters but in this role I think my pick would be Hill or Derry. I don't see Tarrabt as a leader, not right now at least
