Why did he fly to Boston? It's only in down the road in Lincolnshire, he could have driven! Another example of wasting money.
Well have you all seen the possible replacements for Dogleash in the gossip column? AVB is one ffs and that would be brilliant for the rest of the PL because they would flop under him. There's a Frenchman and Dortmund's boss who seems to me the most likely to succeed. I'd like somebody like him at Spurs.
I wonder if they did that deliberately? Quite amusing to see one of our current shirt sponsors as the advert at the bottom of the page, too.
To get back to the authorised subject of the thread, One bookie has stopped taking bets on AVB to be clueless Ken's replacement.....
And that's saying something. Come on - they've got it in them to do something just as brilliant. What's John Barnes doing nowadays? Maybe another joint manager thing with him and McManaman...
Let's see how they're reacting to news that the club have approached Roberto Martinez. Is it optimism?
Hahahahaha FSG saved them and big reinvestment to be made by the fans' choice, now they're turning on him for sacking a failiure and talking to Martinez. Personally I don't rate Martinez that highly but I wouldn't be totally surprised if he did a good job, given time.
I think Martinez will be a great appointment. I wish we could give Liverpool 'Arry and have Martinez instead.
going for Martinez say's to me they are'nt going to spend alot,if any money.they have seen what he's done at Swansea & Wigan with a shoestring budget, and want him to do the same there
The fans won't give him a chance. They are labouring under the misapprehension the they are still a top club. Stand by for a situation similar to Hodgson's if he is appointed.
Martinez needs to say the right things to the fans, keep playing the game the way that he likes to and stay on the right side of the more powerful players. If he's got any money to spend, then he needs to bring in a decent playmaker and cover for Lucas, then work from there. There's still a fair bit of Spanish culture there from Benitez' reign, so he could take advantage of it. Getting the best out of Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt, while using the likes of Downing, Adam and Carroll well in the Europa League might give him time to work in.
PHP: Indeed. I'll second that. I'm rather worried that the scousers might get him. He could actually turn them into a significant threat!
