If the 2nd highest spanish goalscorer in LaLiga played for Espanyol would they not take him because he doesn't play for Barca/Real
Of course they would, because England are a joke.
Of Spain haven't selected their squad yet do you think they would take Torres despite the fact he's only had one or two good games this season? I don't think so.
it does feel though, and even ruddy indicated as much, that he has only been picked 'by default' due to nobody else being up to it or available. never mind the fact he's been bloody great this season - oh, there's nobody else - stick him in then. its actually quite depressing.

Oh dear Rio: "Woy, do I look Bovered?"
Although I do like Rio, but it's time to push on. I'm actualy pretty confident of our defence, so so confident we can score any goals
supers having read your article, I haven't learned anything new. This is a key sentence really :
âHeâll harass people, bully people and thatâs probably something that England have been lacking since Shearer and Sheringham.â
Well... no he won't, because international refs just don't allow it.
I can understand the goals argument and if Holt had scored lots of great goals then maybe it would be a different story, but for the most part he
fights the ball into the net.
The thing is, about feeling aggrieved, that's the bit I can't fathom, get behind your player's bid yes, but he never had any claim on a place to be taken away from him.
For all we know the selection could be inspired, but it just appears to make no sense.
Why oh why would you ever pick Andy Carroll over Peter Crouch or Grant Holt? Granted, Carroll's young, but he's hardly on form. He played well against Chelsea, twice. Woop de f***ing doo. When will we ever just take players on form? England isn't a club, you can chop and change as much as you like after a tournament. For now, though, why don't we just pick footballers who can actually play well for us RIGHT NOW?
Stewart Downing is another ridiculous selection. No goals and no assists all season? He's had a terrible year. Andy Johnson must be feeling sick right now. To be honest, I am too.
Oh, and Jordan Henderson as a reserve? You have to be ****ing kidding.
On the flip side, I'm happy with the choice of captaincy and am relieved that Ruddy has finally been given the recognition he deserves (not that he'll ever play, although Hart is miles better, it has to be said).
WFLGH.
what always amazes me when people talk about johnson, is when they say 'he hasn't played much football'. he played 26 times in the league for the english champions last season and its not how many games he plays for them that counts, its what he does in them! he scores goals on a regular basis, even off the bench and generally makes things happen. 6 league goals and 6 assists by all accounts. not bad for a bit part player. should have been included, no question. where's our flair going to come from?
Right so it's time to start the Holt4teamGB campaign.
