Oh my, I think there might be a few more epic fails from your lot. Just look at half the Norwich fans signatures.
Players representing England - United (4), Chelsea (4), Liverpool (4), City (4), Arsenal (2) Spurs (2) Everton (1) Norwich (1) West Ham (1) we've broken into the clique. just us though! west ham have long been in the clique
its only a matter of time before we can delve further into the clique and see ryan bennett, elliot bennett, jonny howson, anthony pilkington and grant holt called up. ruddy is just testing the water
Classic from Holtmania:- I would find it quite amusing if Holt announced his retirement from international football at this point.
sort of thing he'd do! i'm going to announce my retirement from international football at this point too. if downing is deemed better than me then i may as well quit
supers having read your article, I haven't learned anything new. This is a key sentence really : “He’ll harass people, bully people and that’s probably something that England have been lacking since Shearer and Sheringham.” Well... no he won't, because international refs just don't allow it. I can understand the goals argument and if Holt had scored lots of great goals then maybe it would be a different story, but for the most part he fights the ball into the net. The thing is, about feeling aggrieved, that's the bit I can't fathom, get behind your player's bid yes, but he never had any claim on a place to be taken away from him.
Been looking at the England squad, I'm alright with most of it. I wasnt expecting much and as I thought Holt would unfortunately not be picked and Carroll would go instead. I'm alright with that so long as Carroll can continue his recent form. Congratulations to Ruddy though! Pleased for him and glad he can get this sort of experience. But why the heck take Downing! He's useless! Tim Howard has scored more goals than him this season. Adam Johnson is a similar player and he gets far more assists and goals than Downing, yet he's only on the back up list. Also good to see Oxlade-Chamberlain in the squad.
so did bullying defenders like shearer did hamper his record? do you reckon andy carroll won't get pulled up? did peter crouch? how many goals did he get for england again? and when you say holt 'fights the ball into the net', what the **** are you talking about? honestly, you talk so much drivel on here
Warky, you're fights the ball into the net comment couldn't be further from the truth. Have you seen some of his goals this season?
agree wonky word for word. i have no problem with carroll going either. i don't think he deserves to go but i can totally see why he's worth taking as he bullies defenders and i can also seeing him being useful as an impact sub when rooney is back or we make it through.
i think its probably for the best that holt didn't get called up. i mean, can you imagine how the binners would have reacted to it? they'd be throwing themselves off the orwell...
His goals away at Chelsea and at home To Manure, not to mention the run and cross for Morison to score against West Brom were alsolute top drawer. But, if the ball is there to be bundled - or 'fought' over the line, he's not afraid to roll his sleeves up and get stuck in. The 30 seconds we used to get religiously on MOTD sadly didn't do him justice. So you'll just have to take my word for it
cromer, you can add his bullet header at anfield, one of the best headers i've seen for a long while, his deft touch over the keeper against wolves, his twist and turn against everton, not to mention his stunning goals last season like the acrobatic scissor kick against burnley and many, many others. we all know just how good a player he is and i'm fine with others being too ignorant to find out exactly how good he is. he's ours after all and they wish he was theirs. and he doesn't just score goals, he scores every single type of goal, and he uses both feet too. lets see if andy carroll uses his right foot this summer...
quick point about hodgson. i think it was a great piece of man-management to allow ruddy to still have his wedding. i know plenty of managers who wouldn't have allowed him to do that. i don't agree with all his squad but that was a nice gesture and showed him in a very good light
