He isnt on High wages at arsenal, Would 100% not be our highest earner. If he does come back we lose the add on fees though. but that doesn't bother me

If that's the case it would be fantastic would fit straight into the squad. Would do wonders for Saints, Oxo and Arsenal. Get it done Adkins!

No thank you. Not because he isn't a fantastic player, but its a backwards step. We would just be preparing Arsenals player for them, lets get our own gem of a RM in for the long haul. Don't understand how people can hate the guy either, he still thinks highly of the club, still in contact with the players wishing them all the best for our promotion run in etc etc. Arsenal are a massive club, you can't really blame him.

This rumour thread is mental, next someone will say we have made a bid for Gotze and offered RVP 300k a week.

Heard from a source at the club that we're putting a load of investment behind a bid for Mario Gotze, and if that falls through we're prepared to negotiate with Arsenal for Robin Van Persie, we're happy to offer around £300k a week!

this is ridiculous, we will target far higher calibre players than these

I knew someone would do it <laugh>

Whoever would have Oxo back is deluded he sold his soul for money and walked when he would of been where he is now having played regulary.

He is a money grabber and his old man is a pompey scumbag I hope he plays at St Marys I will boo my first ever ex saint.

I think you may have taken him leaving a little bit too personally.

Maybe...... I told all my friends who have no interest in League one that yet again my Southampton have uncovered another new diamond I praised him over and over again only for the little turd to come out in public saying he wanted to join Arsenal.

Just another greedy little tosser who is now a nobody in my eyes and I hope his career turns to dust ASAP.

He was right to go to Arsenal to be fair. Not only is he earning more money, but he's also doing quite well there and has been tipped by many for the England team. Great career move.

Money is the point Joe.

It's not for a football reason its not to win trophies its simply for money.

I know that's all football is about these days and I can understand it to a point but what saddened me is the realisation that not many clubs will have "Legends" spoken about in the future.

Why not?

I'm sorry, but you are clearly mistaking ambition for greed...once Arsenal were interested in him, he was always going to go there. Thanks to the Don, the club got an excellent deal for him and he gets a chance of playing Champions League football and challenging for trophies as well as playing for England, which, incidentally I think he is good enough to do. If we had been in the Premier League when he left, maybe he MIGHT have stayed a bit longer, but I wish him all the best in his endeavours to become a top, top player.
