You being a Cardiff City fan beleive that Vincent Tan has been a cardiff fan all his life, Vincent Tan like all foriegn business men who have become involved in british clubs are there for one reason and one reason only, to make a profit on their investment, and lets be honest here when cardiff came along he saw a way to get in on the cheap, and the 100 million big ones is small fry to what he can make selling a premiership club which is what he is hoping you will become in the near future, he will make that back and much more, i have no proof but its how football is today.
Are you becoming nocturnal cling, you only seem to come out after the children have vacated the board. Or have you moved west of Gloucester so are on a later time zone?
Hiya remote, hope you're ok mate. Probably the former mate. Too much talking about the board and not enough about the football.
Mabon The likes who own Man City , Chelsea and VT have so much money they dont need a profit. They dont buy yachts etc for profit. The club is another product for them to enjoy. Why we need to play in red I dont know.
Hilts i hope your right and he is there for the long haul and is not looking to screw cardiff and its great history over, for the sake of your passionate fans i hope this all works out for you, cardiff city have a great history and a tradition going back over a hundred years, and i feel for your fans who want to progress the club but do not want traditions of your club messed with.
. I really believe they were going announce a financial stablization plan & decided to try to run a few personal wishes through at the same time .
All good here cling, though a bit bruised after the WH lesson. While most clubs hit a lull after the end of the season, looks like we're in for another eventful few months. Never dull being a dragon ......... ....oops, sorry, got a bit ahead of myself.
this is a wind up ...yes??.....how come a foreigner can come in and change the identity of a welsh club that has an history for over 100 years. How can anyone let these idiots get rid of the bluebird brand name because of superstition theories. cardiff has always been blue and should remain blue, are these nut cases going to change all the seating to red now? will cardiff be known as the robins or what.....Its just plain daft and unessessary. cardiff has an identity that goes back a long way and if the Malaysians think by changing cardiff from blue to red will make a blind bit of difference then they should adopt the cuckoo because they are in cuckoo land...
I think the whole thing is a sad statement about what was once the working mans game. I find it difficult to come to terms with the fact that football clubs can become the playthings for these multi billionaires. But, as 1927 alludede to earlier, things move on and always have done. I just hope that we don't simply buy success and move the game even further away from the reach of local supporters.
I read today somewhere that red is Vincent Tan's favourite colour, but also his lucky colour they did also say that it had a connection to Wales also, i suspect it may have something to do with Malaysian tradition/custom and the colour red? To be honest with you i was puzzled why changing your colours was such a big deal with the malaysians and the rebranding issue as well
No proof then. Sorry but I disagree. The Venky's bought Blackburn last year for £40+ million. If we were promoted and sold would we expect the club to go for more than that, seeing as Blackburn have been in the Prem from the begining minus the one year the spent in the Championship. If you invest £100 million and only get £40 mill back then your no businessman. As a CCFC fan I've watched the Malaysians with interest, as their are plenty of other clubs that have been bought by rich owners and promised the earth (Blackburn, Pompy, even our own Sam the Man) and it then turns out they have been sold a lie, but I do not think this is the case with VT and co. Why invest in a club with well documented debts, seek to resolve those issues then invest heavily in the club only to walk away at a loss? The other thing to note from the owners is that they are not looking to asset strip, which altogether to me signals they are in it for the long haul. Amazingly they have even opened a dialog with the fans on this issue, you only have to look at Mike Ashley at Newcastle and how he rides roughshot through the club, rather the malaysians than that fat prick.
Mabon. Not a prob. Actually I hope your right and he sells for a profit when we are in the PL and then we can go back hopefully to playing in blue. I just think he sees Cardiff City FC as a chance to own a PL football club and market it in Malaysia. Just wish hed leave our tradition alone. Problem is with £70m in debt its that or face liquidation it seems. As I say hope your right and hes out for a profit. But I cant see him making one.
I agree messing with the fine traditions of Cardiff City is a tough one for the fans to take, but the £100million and securing your future is going to split opinion amongst the cardiff fans, on Tan's part it is divide and conquer so to speak, and get his plans through.
Seeing as you can see into the deepest and darkest depths of Tan's mind, could you provide his bank account details and pin.... please
No i have no proof just an outsider looking in, i see where your going and you are probably right, hopefully it will all work out for cardiff city and the fans.
