"As is usual at this time of year, Cardiff City Football Club directors and key stakeholders are in talks to review all operational aspects of the club as a means to ensure our long term success, prosperity and sustainability. This wide ranging annual review process is multi-faceted and incorporates plans to continually build the most competitive team possible going forward, deal with historical issues and continue to positively develop the infrastructure of the club.


We would like to assure supporters that any decisions will include the long term interests of our supporters, our community and the survival and development of Cardiff City Football Club in a highly competitive and modern sporting industry.
As a club we also appreciate the importance of our history, along with our position within the community. We fully recognise the legitimate interests of the fans, supporters and media in the affairs of the club and their right to information in respect of the same.
On Tuesday we met with and held discussions with representatives from the local media, along with meeting with recognised supporter group and messageboard delegates. During these meetings we discussed the various options going forward, all of which are to be ratified in upcoming board meetings as already mentioned.


As such we will communicate any decisions made as quickly as possible, but it serves no interest to comment in depth at this time until those decisions have been taken. We would anticipate that the review will be concluded within the next week, after which a comprehensive briefing will follow"

Now, that's what I call a load of ........ incoherent twaddle. Do you get the general impression it actually says nothing?
 
Well fans from both main mbs have come out of the meeting and are saying.

£100m cash injection.

Stadium to 35000 for 13/14

Kit change to red shirt , black shorts , red socks next season.

Its like a soap opera our club.

Glad I've got six different blue shirts that I can wear from past seasons. I won't be buying a red one.

Around 15 representatives met with officials from the club in a two-hour meeting held at the Cardiff City Stadium.
They emerged saying the club had listened to their concerns but that there was no option but to accept a generous financial package given the club’s finances.
They said the deal was dependent on the outstanding debt to Langston being settled but said if terms were agreed a raft of changes would be brought in – beginning at the start of the new season.
After the meeting, Vince Alm from Cardiff City Supporters’ Club said the club could struggle to keep afloat without the deal.
He said: “I understand what they were saying. The problem I have got is I’m a traditionalist and I think it’s the Bluebirds and the badge is our identity.
“I’m against that but understand the reasons why the local board are making this decision to put the club on a financial footing.

“They haven’t agreed on it but the reason they are looking at this offer to put the club on a sound financial footing. Without it we might struggle to keep afloat more than a week or two by the sounds of it.

Mr Alm added his worry was the changes would split the fans but he said the offer on the table was the best the club had ever seen.
“It gets away with a lot of our identity but you will never lose our history because it’s always there,” he said.
“Langston is yet to be done and that would be a pre-requisite of a deal going ahead.
“Apart from everything, it’s the best deal ever. It’s fantastic, the whole package, it’s great, it’s just the colour change and the badge change.
“Those are my personal views though and we need to talk to our members yet.”

Fan representative Keith Morgan said: “Basically the club put across its explanation of the outlying terms for new investment by the existing investors.
“There’s quite a bit of detraction in terms of the proposal to change our colours because of the worries fans have of losing our identity that has been with the club since 1899 and it has always been the Bluebirds.
“But it is trying to balance that out against the economic realities of life.”

And Annis Abraham, who has supported the team for 40 years, said: “We were 99% united in there all of us.
“They have gone further than Sam Hammam – they have taken the Bluebirds, they have taken the whole crest away and given us a red strip with not even a bit of blue trim, it’s black.
“They were fantastic – Alan Whiteley and Wayne Nash and the media lads.
“They listened to us but it doesn’t matter what we say because they admitted they only worked for Vince Tan. They felt for us, truly they did.
“It’s not down to them – it’s happening.
“It’s happening, no matter what anyone says and that’s what they have said.”

Cant really get my head round this.

£100m , expand stadium and play in red or perhaps go bust.

Looks like another interesting summer.

And to top it off we are being linked with Paul Robinson and thats not the keeper but that Bolton full back whos been at Leeds!!!!!!!

robinson is crap and wouldnt touch him with a bargepole, other than that i have doubts as to all this rebranding stuff. i think people are a bit sensitive to change as one or two on here have pointed out, but if it does turn out to be garbage, then a few apologies to TG and co are in order after premature 'foreign owners have scant regard for tradition' tone of posts from people.
 
Nothing ever done easy with Cardiff is it.

I understand why most of the older heads are against this and doesn't sit comfortable with me, but the reality is the club never started out as Cardiff City, it was Riverside, and we used to play in black and amber not blue so its not as if we (or any other club) havn't changed colours before. Even the nickname was only acquired from a play being held in a theater in the city centre in 1911 and has nothing to do with football, other than we played in blue at the time.
The £100 million investment could propell us to the very top of the game in this country and this could be THE defining moment in Cardiff City's long and proud history. Looks like we aint gonna be bored this summer at least

agree with this but can understand initial emotion involved in some reactions - not just on here either, plus the timing leaves a lot to be desired.

It's all up in the air at the moment but one thing I don't understand is the need for a 35000 seater stadium (at least at the moment) when we rarely fill the one we've got? OK if we got promotion to the Prem, then fair enough but thats not guaranteed no matter how much is invested.
 
I suppose the timing comes down to the play-offs. If we were in the final we wouldn't be having this discussion.....

At least we have a manager unlike Hull who have just sacked Barmby, and like us at this time last year.
 
Vincent Tan i suspect is looking to build Cardiff up over the next year or 2 get you in the premiership and then sell you you off for a big profit. he is not looking to stay around, when he can get a right price for the club i suspect he will be off with his back pocket bulging on to something else.

I dont think thats the case.

Hes a billionaire. More money than the bloke at QPR.

Its the draw of the PL.

I doubt he can make significant money out of Cardiff City.
