I'd have Brown back if Barmby doesn't come back, at least he has a proud history with the club and maybe learnt from his mistakes.
His time at Preston was almost identical to his time here, only over a shorter period: had an indifferent start, but the fans kept faith, went on a brilliant run to the point that he was the new messiah and then everything turned to ****, they got on his back and he was sacked.
You forget the very public fallings out with players he previously relied heavily on. Phil and that Naughty Step....
