Thats the question. Hence why the manager needs sorting one way or another. I hate to say it and hope its indeed not true BUT IF Nick did have the big money needed for a striker available and rejected it in Jan then he can have no complaints. On a short term deal and to get this club back in the big time it was a No Brainer for everyone. But Until such time as Nick can defend himself we shall not know 100% for sure. Its far too early for player unrest but i can understand there worries. If i were them i would simply go away on holiday and forget whats going on here. Worry about it when they get back home. I remember the days of problems at work years ago and going on holiday. As i left the office to start my hols i worried for 10 mins what would happen at work whilst i was away ? The next time i worried was as i walked back into the office on my return. The answer being why waste your holiday time on matters that you cannot control. But if the Correct appointment is Not made then i can see a mass exodus for sure. Who could blame them. With Adam Clayton being releaased from TWS he would be a good signing on a Free,, but i hear he has a bad attitude hence why Colin has let him go.
We are not. Forest are also linked with Norris and Varney from Pompey,, ffs. Do they know what Norris is on down there(money wise i refer) ?
IF we appoint Mad Mick or indeed Steve Wigley then Nigel Pearson and Forest can start looking elsewhere. I like Wigley and so do the players accoriding to what Nick Barmby has said in the past.
Maybe we shall do the same to you guys. Afterall, the Allams have said they will splash the cash when they see value for doing it ? Expect bids for ? ? ? not sure you have anyone better than what we already have come to think on it .
100% agree. I would expect Nick Barmby to do the same if the situation was reversed. There are many vultures already out there circling the clubs with issues or problems. Watch Birmingham and West Ham if they mess up the play-offs as 2 more very vunerable clubs. Nigel Pearson will be under alot more pressure now though than he has been since going back.
Thats what Liverpool fans said of Roy Hodgson. Wigley keeps a type of status quo. But if not Wigs then it has to be Mad Mick. Under no circumstances do i want to see that scottish maggot Billy Davies at my club.
Hodgson managed major clubs in Europe and Internationally, Wigley managed only Southampton and still go on to the '20 worst performing managers of all time' list, even Dowie didn't manage that achievement. Wigley hasn't a prayer of getting offered the job, get real.
Hodgson was an example of being a disaster @ Liverpool. I know Roy has a great CV overall. As for Wigley ive heard Barmby speak well of him and the players like him which has to be a consideration. The biggest issue is that most of the Out of Work managers are crap and are out of work for a reason. Mad Mick was unlucky to get sacked and now Wolvers have paid for that error. Our next manager not only has to be a good one but one that our players want to play for. As for getting real, you need to mention that to the Allams as non of us should even be having this debate. The whole situation is unreal and crazy.
Fair enough. So it has to be someone that the players can and want to play for then. I dont see anyone other than Mad Mick. At least he is a Yorkshireman which ticks another important box, imo.
May God help us then if that turns out to be true. I wont change my view on him. But Paul Mckenna knows him and was BD capt @ PNE and Forest so maybe he can help ease the players concerns which is all that really matters at the end of the day. Guess Matty Fryatt will be happier as we shall more than likely go back to a 4 - 4 -2 formation.
No idea, but you'd expect so, the coaches didn't really know what was going on, other than Barmby had been suspended(at least they didn't on Monday night).
