As is asked in the Official Matchday Programme, which club would you support, if any, should Hull go out of business, and why? (Excluding Phoenix clubs such as AFC Hull, etc) Personally, I'd say Accrington Stanley. A well known and respected club, great fans who are passionate about the team, cheap to watch, entertaining football and, most importantly for me, they are in the 4th Division. When you're down there, nothing beats the excitement of knowing you have the potential to rise through all of the country's professional leagues, as we did.
Either none or North Ferriby. I would imagine they would pick up a decent support if city went bust and might have a chance of getting in the league eventually.
Maybe watch England a bit, but if Hull City was'nt around I can't imagine having much interest in anybody else to be honest
A bleak Orwellian dystopia named Airstrip one, rife with crime and ruled by Big Brother from the Ministeries in Londinium. Edit: And ultimately everyone would probably kill themselves en masse.
It would take a fair while tbh to build up any sort of feeling for any other club, years probably, but i think i would pop down to Ferriby as much as i could and see if we could get them into the league one day. The added finances and tbh i think the atmosphere would give them a massive boost, might even get a local businessman interested.
Great management team, and, they play great, flowing, interesting, enjoyable football! Unlike 'Ull City!!
it just wouldn't be the same.. I'd support any new club from Hull which came out of the ashes.. otherwise Turkish 3rd division outfit Goztepe (from Izmir) as I used to watch them when I lived there..
Would be a total downer. Can't think of anyone who I would be interested in supporting. In a fit of suicidal gloom I'd probably take up Saturday afternoon shopping.
would have to be whitby town as i have seen them about 20 times over the years... but would rather follow AFC HULL the new Hull team.
I would probably follow "MK Tigers" after the club was taken over and moved by some band of cut throat Pirates down in Milton Keynes, just like they did to another club.....
I think what would happen is that a new Hull team would reform out of the ashes (think Aldershot, Wimbledon, Halifax) and grow to fill the void. Whether I would support them in the way that I support City after 30+ years of exile I don't know. It might be one of the local teams like Histon or Cambridge Utd.
The team i have never minded, except when they beat us is Everton.Maybe it was because they were the first big team i ever saw City play, in 1964 Cup.Roy Vernon,Alec Young,Alec Scott, etc, and thee first time i saw City ,only briefly mind,on telly when they showed highlights of the replay at Goodison Park. But anyway it is never going to happen City forever.
