How about a beer thread for those not quite old enough/responsible enough to enjoy and appreciate wine?

There is a Belgian Trappist beer called Rochefort 8 Cuvee Speciale Magnum. That is quite possibly the best thing to of ever passed my lips.

Apparently I can get it in normal sized bottles. At 9.2% alcohol content, I won't need many.<party>

Indeed I have. I used to run Oddbins wine merchants (RIP) on Castle Meadow (opposite Castle Mall) for about eight years, so the occasional cork parted company with the occasional bottle. I much prefer Rhone reds to Bordeaux or Burgundy as they represent superior value for money in my book <ok>
Plus I adore the Provence region at the southern end of the Rhone river, around Arles, Avignon etc <ok>

In the early 80's I ran a small wholesaling business. This was in the days when people were stillquaffing Blue Nun, Mateus Rose and Piat D'or.I remember selling Cotes de Provence in those wonderfully quirky assymetric bottles.

I'm a New World man myself, with a liking for Chilean and Argentinian stuff. I love Carmenere and Malbec as grapes and I also like an old-fashioned Tempranillo.

But basically I'm an old soak.

Anyone on here heard of the east african lager called tusker?

More importantly, if you have, do you know where they sell it norfolk? The only places in the uk I know they sell it is in a pub in Edinburgh and that's too far for me! Also knew they used to sell it in selfridges but have now stopped.
