You obviously haven't caught the qualifying sessions from Australia and Malaysia in comparison to Rosberg then this season...

I don't rate Rosberg, i've made that clear numerous times, i believe him to be an incredibly average driver. Good for Schumi to whack him, it just proves my point.

That he is not an average driver?
I agree mutually that he has the brains for the business, the pace is also there would you not agree? And where has it been lacking recently?

I dont think Rosberg is average, he had his great performances in 2009. The guy made me a killing on the prediction league, he made places and quiet a number of times as well.

It's just he has 0 expereience being at the front for the whole season. Learning from Schumacher is not a bad thing to have if you are his team mate.

It's hard to tell if the pace is there. His teammate is average, so that doesn't give a true indication. For all we know, that Merc is a super quick car, with an average driver and a very old driver. Maybe it has real race winning potential already (tyre issus aside), yet the average and oldie are letting it down?

Michael is winning the psychological battle within the team and now it's apparent on-track. He may not wield the power he once did but he's still the same character and he's got a lot more experience. I think that Michael may be stunting Nico's growth.

    Some interesting views expressed above.

In my opinion, it is going a bit too far to class Rosberg as 'an average driver'; but I would agree that he is not quite a top flight driver, and somewhere below the likes of Alonso, Button, Hamilton and Vettel.

Webber had a poor season last year, which has somewhat reduced his stock; but despite machinations behind Red Bull's closed doors which suggested to me (and still do) that Hell's Mutt Marko is happy to see the Aussie fight his own corner with far less support, he is also probably sitting below the top flight. Rosberg and Webber are very different characters and at different stages in their respective careers but there are similarities in what they are ultimately likely to achieve.

Further opinion: For what little it's worth, I feel Webber would out-gun Rosberg if they were teamed together.

This places Rosberg somewhere around sixth best at the moment - and despite the shifting sands at Mercedes, I still have him as their best driver. Therefore the argument that the car could be better than it looks would seem valid.

Definitely. F1 these days is so sanitized with all this stuff about you're only allowed one move, and the DRS which means the likes of Webber can just push past King Schumi when he is defending for his life, I look back on all his misdemeanours with a bit of fondness to be honest, it's not the same sport nowadays at all.

It most likely goes the opposite way too. That Hamilton is a real no hoper isn't he?

Great thread for tomorrow this, have a feeling that Schumi will zap past Rosberg at the start but the mercs will not be in front for too long. First pole for the Silver Arrows since the 50's and well done to Nico for an astonishing pole lap.
