Sparkey, I haven't read Malky should be sacked? Can you point it out. My opinion of Malky is well known but I have not said anywhere he should be sacked. However, he's supposed to win matches and after a great start it's fizzled out.
What's the cause of the poor performances?
    No squad rotation
    Tired players
A lack of strength in depth
    No plan B (allegedly)
    No wide pacey wingers
No decent striker (people know my views on Miller)
Inability to change tactics during a match
Failure to bring in quality loan signings
Failure to bring in any permanent signing in the Jan window
Our recent points tally is relegation form

All these have been mentioned in thread and discussed. Ultimately it's the manager that has to step up to the plate and put things right, Malky has to earn his corn and in March he did not, in fact he fell well short of what is needed.

Aber and other raised the point he needs time as clubs are too quick to get rid. I pointed out that there were some strange sackings this season, nothing more. I don't recall reading anyone else suggesting Malky be sacked so have assumed you are pointing at either Aber or myself. The managers performance in March is also a part of the problem. He can' rest on his laurels after an epic (not classic) cup final against Liverpool. Malky has repeatedly stated it's not a hangover from the cup final, if not then what is he doing wrong?

Cracker - You complain about a poster off ours ruining your threads. Have a look in the mirror mate. Any further post you make in this thread will be deleted if it is not on topic. There are many other threads that you can make pointless comments on. This is not one of them.

I see this decent discussion thread has descended into crap again because of the pointless posts from Breezeblock, but I'll respond to you anyway Taff.

Taff - you've got it the wrong way around pal. I've not infered that you nor anyone else has mentioned sacking Malky - read my posts.

I've just re-read the comments on this article and the only posters who've brought up the issue of manager sackings in general are you and Aber.

The implication is, that if I or any other poster expresses concern about the abject recent performances, we're suggesting it's the manager's fault and he should be sacked. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I've attended all but one (Hull) Championship games at he CCS this season and can honestly say that I've not heard anyone there mention the subject. Yes, we all sit around and walk out together after the recent decline asking the questions, but that's about it.

There may be so many other behind the scenes reasons for our drop to 8th over the past 3 months, and God knows how we are still in touch for the playoffs to be honest. We are just asking for some transparency from the club as to the lack of action to support our 3rd place position at the New Year mark, nothing more. <ok>

Aber mate, that wasn't meant as a putdown I can assure you. I enjoyed the short, sharp remark to put Breezey in his place - trouble is he doesn't know where that is. <doh>

What would that transparency include Sparkey? I assume you want to know how much money was available in January.

Well Siam, it would be nice to know what happened alleged £3m available to buy Sordell for a start.

Wasn't there anyone else we could have brought in, either purchase or loan to support the existing squad given that sort of money was quoted by the club?

Maybe a quick perusal of this thread may provide you with a clue.

Yes, I understand what you ar asking, but I am not sure the club would feel it is obligated to share its transfer funds. I guess if they told everybody how much they had to spend or will have to spend they run the risk of being held hostage in the transfer market.

I think MM already stated he would not bring in anybody he did not think would add to the strength of the squad. I guess that means he did not see anybody that he felt would do that beside Vukic and Lawrence.

I agree with you but I don't think the club would be willing to divulge this information.

Some great posts on here <ok>

Personally, while the lack of information made public can be (and is) frustrating at times, I'd rather that than go back to the last few seasons where information, from various "sources", was thrown at us almost on a daily basis from all angles. The problem with that was that any relevant information was swallowed up by the sea of bullshit that surrounded it... eventually all merging into the latter.

As a paying customer (which unfortunately, seems to be the case these days as opppososed to being a fan) I want to know the answers to all the questions posted here as much as anyone but whether I get them remains to be seen.
As for Malky, he will get the majority of the blame because he's the manager. Yes he picks the team and recently, we've all questioned some decisions... why isnt X starting?, why is X playing there etc? but he doesn't kick a ball or make any mistakes that cost us a goal.
We're seeing the same group of players now as we have all season so why now are they not performing?

Are they just tired? Are some not good enough? We all agree a lack of speed is painfully obvious but they haven't just become slower over night.
Those same players put us where we were around the New Year which has prompted this great thread. We need additions rather than replacements although one will invariably mean the other. I haven't got the answers or an analytical brain (in football management terms) to offer the solution but sack Malky?...not a chance. Back Malky?...I will as long as he is in charge...as I did DJ. Will I still keep going to CCS to support my team?... hell yeah!!

I posted in a different thread that this, imo, is the start of a new era for our club and if a lack of information is part of that then so be it.

Last season was the Golden Opportunity thrown away.

This year I dont think the squad is strong enough.

Far stronger than it was when we lost all those players last summer.

6th is still possible but doubtful.

in all the games we've played at home, rarely do the opposition strike me as being an excellent team, there are plenty of average sides in this division, southampton we beat fairly easily 2-0 at home and they will be promoted as champions. likewise the teams at the bottom are technically poor but put up a fight and thats the thing, we should be creating and scoring more goals against these teams, not drawing 0-0..

whittingham, miller are up there as the best players in this division and we're making a meal out of beating some of the teams that we make look a awful lot better than they are..i include the 3-0 hull defeat in this category..

we probably need another summer actually to reshape the squad as we've got too many in some positions and not enough in others...

Hilts - you could say two seasons before was another one with that last day debacle at Wednesday - If we'd got a point there, we could have won those playoffs - we were a better side than Burnley who went up.

Agree the squad isn't strong enough now, but it could have been.

As far as 6th is concerned this year - I'll take that right now.

<laugh>.....sparkey i was just stating facts.......and that we havnt pissed fk all away yet if you ask me.........and tbh compared 2 when i`d say we`ve been favourites in the playoffs i`d prefer 2 slip into them and take the carrot without the added pressure......that does seem the way it happens mostly.

Aye Aber - slipping in from behind sounds good to me............<laugh>

One thing's for sure, if we get the chance, I fancy our chances far more even with this weaker squad than last year. Despite the recent rumblings about Malky and some of his decisions, I'd take him to go for broke rather than DJ.

If we're in the mix this year, it's only 3 games to the Prem - anyone could do it. <ok>
