Sorry I have not posted in a while, I felt it best to hide my opinions after the Middlesborough game as some views on certain refs/scottish players may have got me into trouble. Anywhoo, hello :)

Hi Supergeo...:) i'm sure i'm not alone in thinking that all posts are welcome, regardless of whether they are agreed with or not. In fact, if they're controversial, it makes it more exciting ;).

And with that, i'm off to bed. Night night all!

Got done for speeding on the day I was bringing Lennietta back from hospital. It was a nuisance as I was not driving stupidly but came upon a daft old codger meandering between lanes on a dual carriageway and so took the chance to get past after a roundabout - unfortunately I did 79 in a 70 to do so - given that the road was quiet and it was a 2 lane dual carriageway it was not at all dangerous. However just my luck that there was a camera van in the layby to the side - and by the time I saw him it was too late and i was radar'd

Instead of points and a fine though they offered me a Speed Awareness course which if I completed would mean no prosecution. So I took that option and so lost yesterday to sitting like a naughty schoolboy in detention being told that speed kills. :(

Lenny, had that been me I would have had a fine time arguing the point!

I spend a lot of time driving on notorious rural roads up here - about 400 miles a week for work - and long ago reached the conclusion that it wasn't so much the speed that kills but the lack of speed. There is nothing more frustrating that being stuck behind trucks/buses/vans/farm traffic - or oldies taking their cars for a walk - travelling at 35mph on a hilly, twisty rural road where there is no chance of overtaking 'legally'. I totally understand why drivers often take risks that they shouldn't or have to speed to catch up lost time.

Slow start by the Poms in the View attachment 1560 but they look to be recovering. Wonder if it'll be enough?

Best remain quiet about the Aussies :emoticon-0111-blush:emoticon-0111-blush

Hornette - Mrs W_Y and I have done the London Moonwalk 3 times, it's a great experience and any excuse to put a bra on! :emoticon-0111-blush
Training is tough but well worth it, and the 20 mile training session will soon be over. First year we did it was 2006, after finishing I had a shower and went and got the train down to Cardiff for the play off final (I had decorated a yellow bra with hornets all over it!)- I was surviving on lager and adrenalin :smiley-finger007:
We are giving it a miss for a few years as our friends and relatives are fed up with us chasing them for money (I just threaten them with the pictures of me!) and Mrs W_Y is back at college and cannot train properly.
Have you got a justgiving donation website? Happy to donate if you can find a way of directing us there????

Mrs Zen did the speed awareness course. Apparently one of the questions was along the lines of "what do you think of speed?" To which her answer was "Great, isn't it." The funny thing were all the excuses being give, I'm new to the area, I didn't realise, etc.
