The fact of the matter is teams are still on course including us of making 70 points or more to grab the last play off spot.

We we fisnished third in 2008 we only amassed 75points and Watford came 6th with 70 points - did we say we were cr*p that year?

i think it goes to prove that the championship is great entertainment and that it is in fact the best league in the world because of what's at stake.

god forbid we ever have to play in the Murdoch league again. the championship is much better value for money

Bollocks.

It's not that incredible, we just came off a long unbeaten run and those points added up, only reason that run didn't seem more impressive was because of the number of draws.

Surely we can beat Pompey! If we don't, I think it is all eyes on next season's promotion charge. I know there is a lot of football still to be played even after tomorrow but in all seriousness, if we cannot get 6 points from the next 2 games then I think we will definitely fall short of the top 6.

Unfortunately i will not be making the trip down to Fratton Park but to all those that do, make sure you cheer the boys on to victory

this point of view really confuses me mussie..
the only reason the championship is so exciting, is nearly everybody has an even chance of beating each other to getting out of it at the end of the season..
if you take away the end result, then surely the reason to find it exciting becomes meaningless at the end of the day

Hmmm, nah - the poor teams are relaly poor and everyone beats them - then there are 15 teams of about the same level and 3 teams way above everyone else.

Think you have nailed it there. The league is very competitive and there probably isn't too much of a difference in standard between 4th and 18th. That for me makes it very interesting and, as the same time frustrating and nervy.

For what its worth we are just one point worse off after the same number of games in 2008. The difference was that year we were in the middle of a run and had impetus. This year we are losing ground at the wrong time. We are still in the thick of it though.

i have to say i probably agree with you, but that is my dilemna. i d like to strive for promotion, gain promotion on the final day of the season, pass over on promotion but receive he same benefits of promotion. in the premier, more than ever now we would pay for 20 games of realistic competitive entertainment. in the championship, we get 46 games of real football entertainment. then, in a totally confused state, i ask myself: "why do i support hull city?" a question and a dilemna i have been facing for almost 45 years imight add!!!!!!

Not really, it's more about the thrill of the chase and good days out. I'd love it if we won the league and then just said no thanks, we'll stay here.

Let's face the majority of clubs that get into the Prem end up financially ****ed. Isn't that a Pyrrhic victory?

What does the word Pyrric mean ?

that we're STILL just one win away from the play offs? We've been on a pretty shabby run and the fact we're still up there shows just how ordinary a division it has been this year - even more so than normal. Yes we were unbeaten in 11 but we'd have been much better off winning 7 and losing 4.

Not quite sure what my point is other than the Championship is really crap this year.

We should have made the play off easily. Especially since our defense is that good and we hardly concede any goals.
