The key thing is the arbers, they will know which punters are taking prices that they are best odds on and limit those sorts of punters.

I am lucky that I seldom use Bill Hill (once in a blue moon) so my account with them isn't going to worry them with a £50 bet <laugh>

Was my first bet on the account so that's prob why I was allowed that then.Is it purely an online offer or is it available in shop as well?if so wonder what you could get on there

I realise that it is a regular practice of most bookies these days to limit what certain people(regular winners/people they 'identify' as arbers)are allowed on but surely it's not going to do Hills reputation much good if they are making such a big deal about this offer then only allowing some people a tenner on.When making an offer like this you'd think they would have a limit of say around 100 rather than a measly tenner

The limit is £100 (I think) for the people they want to appeal to. They being the irregular/occasional/amateur punters who might not have had a bet otherwise.

They have no interest in accommodating the professional/serious punters looking for a good opportunity so limit them accordingly.

People may moan but it's hardly surprising.

In this case, somebody who backs HF at 5/4 with Hills and lays it off on Betfair at a shorter price. That's why HF has drifted this morning out to just above Evens.

The above comments are a revelation...the old-time bookies will be turning in their graves? We should really go like they do their betting in Australia?

For all I agree that it's hardly surprising it is rather pathetic,if they offer something they should have the balls to open the offer to all who are interested

Longsdon sends one to Hereford today and has Richard Johnson in the saddle which is enough for me to have an each way bet on it at 11/2.

Tsarinova runs for Longsdon today for the first time having switched from Alan King's stable. The change of scenery may be enough to bring about improvement. She ran well enough in bumpers to suggest that a mark of 96 is within her compass and the first time tongue tie is screaming one of two things - either she's s a nailed on cert or (and probably more likely) she needs to have a breathing opp. If the latter's the case today she won't be winning today but i'll take a chance in what I have rather catchily dubbed my 'play up the Cheltenham fund' week of little bets.

In the bumper I did like Money Mix but as the head of the market is very tight and Money Mix's price is down to 3/1 I will just leave that alone unless there's a late drift.

So with all the movement on The Fly this morning, do we all think he will still win?

Morning, people. Are Cheltenham having trouble selling tickets for next Thursday?!? Ladbrokes are offering pairs of Tatts tickets, on the day they sponsor the big race, for £60 as opposed to £90!

Meanwhile, I see that one of racing’s most profitable systems scored another big winner yesterday as Leanne scooted in at Leopardstown at 7/1!

It certainly seems that since the exchanges came into existance that most bookies are highly suspicious of anyone who is shrewd enough to pick regular winners/be clever enough to get on at the right price, most bookies definately seem less willing to stand bets than they used to.

Anyways back to todays racing, just the one bet for me today Qaspal 3.15 Hereford,it's jumping warmed up as the race went on last time when it travelled well into the business end of the race but in the end just seemed to need the run,the Hobbs yard also now seems to be in much better form at the moment as well.Good luck all having a bet,ONLY 8 DAYS TO THE BEST 4 DAYS RACING OF THE YEAR!

So hills are limiting online bets to certain folks! Big deal jump in your car or call in favours and get a few females to open a one off account! If you want the money on it wont be that hard! Anyhows yes the exchanges and ibternet are to blame. Hold the prices til 1015 used to be the way not anymore! I still prefer my betting slip to an online account!
