When I was in Wellingborough, I popped into a local betting shop (as part of my morning walk) and I'm sure I saw on the TV screen some odds for a 5f hurdle race. Can't remember off hand the name of the venue. I wasn't dreaming, was I?
Can someone tell Dan Starkey when they see him on here that his inbox is full. That is not a euphemism btw, he has too many PM's and can't accept anymore
the don we all know where you were tied up and what to!!!!!!!!!!! John Dawson got a ride on wednesday and Chris has one in same race ??????? im a waiting his text reply
Hmmmmm .......................... I find that a very strange decision. Wonder what reason he'll give.
Very interesting Danbo.... drop me a message if you hear back. Will defo watch that one with interest!!!
On twitter through don mccain's official account. The reasoning is that his setback has ruined his training regime so the theory is that he'll appreciate going the half pace slower in the Jewson ala the Neptune not the Supreme in 2010. In other words we're running scared of SS's high cruising speed.
Hello lads. Just back and what a headline.A real shame tbh for the Arkle and what promised to be a real treat. If he's fit enough for the Jewson he's fit enough for the Arkle surely.Connections obviously know their limitations, agree with Quel. As I have said all season long, the old satchels are full of cash from the Lemmings who back future chasers on hurdle form.Ridiculous strategy. PC's chase form this year was poor and if it is the interests of the horse to lower his sights at this stage of his career, then that is the right thing to do. Disappointing for the rest of us but thats racing and I doubt he'll be the only dodgeball next week.
Its a shame for the Arkle that PC has been withdrawn, i would of thought the 'slower' pace of the jewson would be offset by the fact theres guna be at least double the amount of horses ..Novice Horses to be precise!... As has already been said, if he is fit enough for the Jewson, he should be fit enough for the Arkle
Disappointed for my wallet but more so for the spectacle in the Arkle which is a race I usually gloss over as 2m chasing is, to me, dull as dishwater. One out of left field at an each way price who will 100% definitely appreciate better ground than he's had in Ireland is Blackstairmountain.
I'm left with one in the Arkle. People won't believe me but I had a £10 saver on SS at 10/1 last year. Pales into insignificance compared to what I've just lost.
