Interestingly Matt Phillips and Craig Cathcart have pulled out of their respective countries games this week. City meanwhile will have three players playing just 48 hours before. I smell a rat at Blackpool and I bet both will start on Friday. I know there used to be a rule about players withdrawing from country games through injury.

Yeah, don't see what right we'd have to complain. If their players have no ambition it's got nothing to do with us. If they're genuinely injured then they might not play against us anyway. It's a game we can easily win or lose on our own without worrying about how they line up.
If they withdraw them due to injury for a Wednesday night game, yet they make a miraculous recovery and are available to play for their club two nights later, then their players should be dropped from their national teams(and kicked repeatedly in the bollocks), so I can't see that they can realistically play them now.
both have been missing of late so no real surprise that they have pulled out. i hope that they play especially with the injuries theyve both got. cannot see it myself though.
