I suppose it comes down to defining a dirty player. To me, a dirty player is one who intentionally tries to injure another. I suppose it could include an habitual professional fouler. In my book, however, Parker is not a dirty player. I've never seen him set out to intentionally damage, or injure, anyone. I'm far more suspicious of some of Mr Scholes' "mistimed tackles"
Luke is only pushing this because he's getting a bite...or so he thinks!...leave it be now Luke...wouldn't want people getting the wrong idea! His record indicates nothing more than that he does a lot of tackling, it is in fact better than most who's job is the same as his. Now give it a rest.
I'm just letting him dig a bigger hole for himself. He keeps backtracking bit by bit on his original statement that "Parker is a dirty player" so I thought I'd see if he would keep on digging
If you asked 100 football fans to make a list of some dirty players, 100 would not have Scott Parker in it. If you were in the 100, then it would be 99. I've never heard of anyone use 'dirty' to describe him.
A gooner posted this back in October - Does this quote end the myth that he just couldn't tackle and wouldn't hurt a fly? Paul Scholes: âOf course I can tackle. Thereâs plenty of evidence of being able to tackle. I was just getting people back. If someone got me early in the game it was always in the back of my mind that I needed to get them back. I didnât always do it on purpose, some of it was just bad timing, I suppose.â
IT's professional football Luke how do you think Man U dominated possession in so many games over so many years. I suggest it's because they were able to employ the best players, but the higher up the skill ladder you go the smaller the differences between players levels. To be the best of the best other factors come into the game, like the manager for example and the team ethic. To come out on top you have to combine skill with attitude, with toughness, with the will to win in other words. Look at the last game between Liverpool and Spurs. Most would agree (I think ) that Spurs have more skilful players than Liverpool so how was it a draw? Because Liverpool used tough hard tactics to prevent players like Bale & Modric using their talents. Some of these tactics mean that players with ball skills AND a hard nut philosophy will go as far as they can get away with to stop their opponent. It is why Spurs have not won the league as many time as United or Liverpool, the team ethic is different. It's why many of us applaud teams like Swansea and criticise teams like Stoke. It's why many of us support Spurs.
I was there. It was the most noise we made all evening. I think us and Di Canio made the refs mind up for him. Coldest game I've ever been to. -2 degrees. Never again Wembley for the 3rd time in 4 years! It's great supporting two successful teams!
This also happened to me in the last couple of weeks, I was able to set it back up with the same name tho.
I think if I went back to Ensiluokkainen a number of users that follow lesser teams would have a collective hissy fit - I am hoping that the powers that be advise me as to what went wrong and reinstate my account.
I should've included both as an option, Ensil, you're right. I always thought that he was just a hatchetman, when it came to those tackles. Very cynical and not the result of anger or petulance, like Keane's could be.
Is this lidls' warped and confused way of saying: "I wish Fergie had had the brains to sign Parker as our midfield is now both brainless and balls-less" ?
Damn its like being back on 606 the same old carp from the same muppets Parkers competes and mistimes the odd challenge so what ?
I think Parker is controlled and calculating. He knows exactly when to niggle, exactly when the odd foul is necessary. It's the sign of a class player, he doesn't lose his cool, even when kicked in the head or in the stomach by a violent thug. England captain material no doubt. Oh, and welcome (back?) to not606 Grandspurs, I know we had differences in the past. The first time I suggested that Benny should have been the MOM you threw you colostomy bag out of your wheelchair, but hey ho, your comments are appreciated.
The first time I suggested that Benny should have been the MOM you threw you colostomy bag out of your wheelchair, but hey ho, your comments are appreciated --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To be 100% honest and cocky of course out of all the players we have bought I have been extremely accurate on what I thought they would give us and if I thought they were good, bad or dreadful buys but I was totally wrong on BAE. I did not think he was anywhere near good enough and I did not think he would ever be good enough but he has developed into one of the top left backs in the league IMO. Yes he drops the odd clanger (what defender does not ?) but generally he is dependable and unfortunately for me I have had to eat my words on that one
Also starting to score some goals which is a bonus from a FB. --------------------------------------------------------------------- and he is so amusing its unreal
But you need to recognise that this isn't the same sad and Spurs obsessed idiot that used to post on BBC606 and that this lidl is a completely different sad and Spurs obsessed poster. has turned out to be somewhat special though hasn't here
