At the end of the day, you've achieved nothing. And one bad season for us, or one good one for you doesn't mean you will suddenly be more of a force than us. Win something then pipe up. Until then, you keep dreaming whilst I enjoy all the memories of trophies won in recent history not ancient history.

Agree up to the last sentence. In sport there is now and history (recent or ancient are all the same). Nothing that has happened in the past can change what will happen this year. There is no such thing as a big club - there are clubs whose teams are the best today and clubs who've had the best teams over a long period. On the first measure Spurs are a tiny bit ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal for the first time in 15 years. On the second measure there is little between them I think: but Arsenal have won the most trophies and Spurs have been more consistent over a long time frame, with Chelsea leading in the recent past.

Agreed, History is for clubs fans to warm their memories with trophies while they win **** all. Then we get to recent history & ancient history <laugh>

Fair post. We have been lucky with injuries; apart from the fact that Torres has been fit all season.

:D And Luiz <whistle> I only caught the highlights of the Swansea game but I seem to remember him running down the left wing off the ball, is there something lost in translation for "centre back" in Portugese?

I can understand why Tottenham fans get annoyed by these kinds of threads, there's a fair few of them on your board and a couple of your posters are obviously on the wind up and clearly hate Spurs. I take the opinion that if you go on someonelse's board and get wound up it's your own fault and I definitely have before, although trying to explain to Liverpool fans why Suarez's ban was not a conspiracy by the FA, funded by Fergie and the Sun would drive any reasonable man insane :p

Fair point, well made. <ok>

very true. I quite like Luis though, he's an entertainer that's for sure!

Like who? Most of our fans don't give a **** about Spurs they're just fed up of your fans constantly goading us despite the fact you've won nothing.

I can except it from the likes of United and to a far lesser extent Liverpool but Spurs have done nothing of note to have such arrogance.

I think it's a measure of the clubs when we're having a bad time and are 4th. Spuds are having a great season and playing great football and lie 3rd.
If Spuds were having a bad season they would be about 12th.

Arsenal are still the market leader in London and our main rivals long-term.

Once Spurs have won a trophy for the first time in 20 years, finished top club in London and built a 60k stadium, only then should others be concerned.

Don't hold your breath

My oh my, the followers of 'one of the least successful clubs in the premier league' really do have an arrogance problem. :)

We won the League Cup 5 years ago and have secured aome of the funding for our stadium so it's just a matter of time, although it will be 56k not 60k :(

I do agree that Arsenal will be your rivals longterm.. there's going to be some tasty battles for 5th between you two in the coming years, it's just a shame we'll be battling it out at the top :p

Seriously though, Arsenal need to spend big in the summer, otherwise it's going to be very tough for them to get back to where they once were and if the FFP has any teeth, you might find yourselves struggling too.

FFP will indeed be interesting though what we have is a global brand built on sustained 'success' in the C.L. Whether this counts for much remains to be seen but we still generate a lot of money so as long as we curb silly spending (like getting a different manager every 5 minutes, torres etc) we should still be ok.

Agree, our revenue is double that of Sours but behind Arsenal.

Hence, if FFP works (it will be scapped or modified pretty quickly in reality), Arsenal will be our main rivals along with United.
